I have no problem with the men and women of the UAW, I support them. I do however have a problem with the UAW leadership that pushed GM into Barry Obama's arms.

As for being made in Canada, I've got to say the Camaro is the best built GM vehicle I've ever owned. The Canadians are doing a fine job, dare I say better than America's UAW workers.

I love my camaro ,but I can't say it's the best built GM car I've owned. I've had a lot of problems with mine ,but I call it design problems more than a build problem.
Like I said I have no problem with it being built in canada. That's better than china.

1) The engine compartment is beautiful, the cross member over the engine adds a nice finishing touch.
2) The rear end styling is horrible, flat out ugly.
3) Nothing new here, but the front end styling is second to none; it gives the Mustang that aggressive classic muscle car look.
4) The interior looks and feels cheap; I'm not sure they could have found a lower grade of leather. For as much grief as the Camaro gets with regard to it's interior, it's far better than the Mustang's.
5) The shifter (M6) is loose and sloppy, far worse than the Camaro's stock shifter.
6) I thought the wheels on the stock SS Camaro were narrow, the wheels on the Mustang look like something that belongs on a family sedan.
7) The sound of the exhaust is very nice.
8) The handling seemed OK, but not even close to the Camaro SS, of course I'm used to my Camaro with coilovers and wide tires all the way around.
9) The acceleration felt identical to the stock Camaro SS, I honestly could not tell a difference. But the engine revved more quickly and was more responsive.
10) They have a UAW sticker on the window...WTF? That alone would turn me away. Even though Barry Obama and the UAW own GM they don't (not yet at least) put their logo on their cars.
I agree with everything except #10 and #9.

#10...Im not going to get into politics.

#9. The mustang felt just as fast when WOT in the upper RPM range...other than that it felt slightly inferior.

The final assembly is rarely the cause of problems, it's usually the quality and/or the design of individual components, many of which are made in China among other countries. Look closely and you'll see Made in China on many of the Camaro's components.

For my small business I have products produced in China, let me say that their quality is restricted only by the level of production management you're willing to provide and the detail of your product specifications. The Chinese will build EXACTLY what you specify; where the specifications lack they'll take the least expensive route. So ultimately the quality of products made in China is controlled by the contracting company.

We just picked up a 5.0 for R&D here at Rksport and I agree the wheels and tire size that came with it was hilarious.
235/50/18 all around... I know for sure it has 235, i may be wrong on the sidewall size.

SAD!, not even staggered. hahaha

Took the hood off and its so thin. We flipped it up side down and you can see it roll and dent as to move the hood side to side on the table. We'll fix that with a better hood.

I also wasn't impressed with the real axle ( Straight ) it just reminded me of a truck rear end, just cheap!

Well, I haven't driven it yet! it's just on jack stands!

That's why I said I don't consider my problems a build problem.

And as far as the chinese, I not getting into that. That's an other thread in it'self. I will say though ,I really don't care how well the build anything in china or who decides the specs. My problem is that it's built there to begin with.

1. agree

2. subjective

3. agree

4. put down the pipe

5. no, seriously, PUT DOWN THE PIPE.

6. the base wheels, agree.

7. agree

8. stock to stock, Brembo GT > SS.

9. While I agree the acceleration is close, the way it is delivered is vastly different between the two.

10. no comment

Thank the labor unions for things being made in China. I'm all for unions helping people fight abuse, but when they got into forcing ridiculous pay, benefits, and dictating job responsibilities to the employer, they overstepped their bounds.
Union members that find themselves without jobs can thank their union leadership for driving work to China.

And simple....I like simple.

Of course, there is irony in that statement....the live axle is simple and easier to use for what I like to do, vice the more complex SS IRS. But up in front, the LS3 is simple and easier to mod for what I like to do, vice the more complex 5.0 4V.

Funny...and also ironic....back in the day, I posted on more than one forum that my 99 Cobra would have been damn near perfect (for me) if it had come with an 8.8 live axle and an LS1.
