TIMES INFINITY!! Sanders was a phenom!! He had no supporting cast and every defense knew who was going to get the ball but he still produced the gaudy numbers he did. Had he not retired when he did then Emmit wouldn't hold the record he now does. Not only that, but he was a class act compared to many of the prima donnas that play today.

Sanders is one of the greats of all time. Most specifically because of the fact that he was the only threat and played against.

Millen should have never become a coach. He was a good player, but he certainly wasn't a good commentator and was even worse as a coach.

Millen was actually our GM from 2000-2008. Worst fricken eight years I must say. I was ecstatic when the fired his arse too! I'll always be a Lions fan, just because, but my money's still on the other team right now.

I wish Bobby Ross could have somehow kept Sanders in the game as he would have surely beat Emmit out of the total rushing record. The only reason Emmit went to AZ was to try and pad that stat.

I can't wait til ithat record goes down in flames...

Also, OJ Simpson did it without a playoff caliber team...

eh i dont feel sorry for barry. if you dont like the team dont sign on the dotted line. instead he took his ball and went home showing that record didnt mean a thing to him. sorry guys im a cowboys and emmitt fan so let the flame begin haha

You're right... Barry wasn't all about the record books and Emmit definitely was...

maybe but hes got that, 3 rings, record for most 100 yd games, rushing tds, and a mvp and sb mvp he may not be as talented as barry if he had the dallas wall but he aint a slouch either

UT QB's... Major Applewhite, brought into a game that UT was trailing, and only after the starting and back-up QB's went out injured from getting crushed...
Opposing team.. Ok, freshman QB. lets clean his clock... They tried, but no matter how hard they hit him, he played his game, stood all 5'11" of himself in the pocket, made the passes and took the hits...He picked the opponents apart until they had to stay back in coverage, and he still tore them a new one...

He stayed the starting QB after he brought Tx back and won that game...

Along comes Deep Pockets Phil Simms, who has a son and a good friend in Deloss Dodds... uhmm... how much to make sure Chris-e-poo starts... Endowment checks do lots of strange things...

Major Applewhite, though on his way to shattering most all QB records at Texas, and many on the national level, took a back seat... a Very Classy Backseat... to Chris Simms... Yeah Chris won some games, he is a better than average QB, but a pimple on Applewhites arse as far as I am concerned.

In the Hawaii Bowl, when Applewhite was allowed to start the last game of his career, after rooting for and supporting Chris despite the situation, he threw an interception early in the game.... the Cameras immedately switched over to Simms, who was laughing...

He like Emmit was all about himself... and did well thanks by and large to the supporting cast... Applewhite, like Sanders, was a class act, all about the team... Sanders left after the years of getting the hell beat out of him every week... and never once complained or made mention of what if....

Emmit going to Arizona... good riddance... Barry Sanders and Major Applewhte both have more class than 99 % of the athletes at the national level, whether collegiately or professionally....
