Love the Camaro.

The cars are very close in nearly every department.

Are LT headers really producing 30rwhp on the new 5.0 or is that just advertising bull. I know for a fact that the CAI only adds like 2hp. I recently read that in my new 5.0 Mustang & super Fords magazine.(I used to own a 08 GT, thats why I still get the mag)

i dont see what the big deal is the 5th gen camaro came out and it is an awesome car so ford said we better do something so they topped it they had a year or two to do it so guess what chevy will come back and top the 5.0 and guess what ford will come back and top the camaro it will never end i will be a camaro guy till the day i die i have owned 6 and they have never let me down...test drove mustangs and they never made me want to switch and i can tip my hat to ford for making a gt (took long enough) that make good hp numbers....just like i have heard the 6th gen camaro is getting the alpha frame a whole lot lighter and then ford will probably put a 5.4L NA in the gt to compensate just a quess

Ford Engineers said they would like to cut another 100-200 lbs of weight off the GT. And it will get a new and/or improved platform soon also.

Hopefully both companies lighten these cars up.

You never answered my question. Did the same guy that reviewed the 2010 Mustang also review the 2011? People's opinions vary and that's all these mags are full of, people's opinions. I'm glad you're happy about the outcome of the 2011 Mustang GT, I'm sure the folks over at Ford can rest easy now that you're satisfied. I'm glad GM started to produce the Camaro again, and you should be as well

You ford owners should be happy that the camaro & the challenger are back or you would have the same old mustang of late, think about it, camaro comes out and not only does ford change body style but complete driveline, myself personally give the nod too the camaro, it just plain works

i wanted to test drive one the other day but our dealer did not let me. lol, he made a funny face because i forgot i had my camaro t-shirt on with my chevy cap.

The 2011 5.0L and "ugly rear end" update was in development years ago, not a response to the concept Camaro from 2005.

i dont see how they can do this without cheaping the car out what are they going to use light weight titanium for the frame and carbon fiber body if so good by 35k price tag

They said it is part of the wishlist. They even joked that they could make a very light mustang but it would cost 200+k.

And they could remove that weight without "cheaping" the car out. Especially if it moves to a new platform.

yeah i dont know if cheaping is a word just came to me
all this chevy/ford out doing each other is good for us the car buyer
just gives us better cars as the years go on

When the guys at Ford FINALLY get out of the 1960s and put an independent rear suspension on the Mustang, they might get my attention.

Ford offered IRS in the mustang 11 years ago. Personally I prefer the live axle.

I wonder why they don't still do it? Hit the wrong bump in a turn with any speed to it and you are out of control. Well, at least that's my experience with the live axle.
