The Fair Tax is the best thing I've heard of. You get to tax the illegals, cartels, Drugs, weapons, organized crime, EVERYONE inds up getting taxed.

Makes sense to me.

NH doesn't have a sales tax (don't know about income) but the state gets the money by other means (I think through property taxes).

I see what you're saying, and I agree. BUT, what do you think is more likely?...... Spending cuts, or spending moderation?

Actually, NIETHER, is likely, but the MORE likely would be moderation. So, let's make more tax money if we can. I'm in favor of it because we get EVERYONES taxes. Not just honest working people. So our taxes don't go up, they just have more people paying them.

There is no way around it. Everyone will be taxed if they are consumers.

And just remember,... yours and my taxes wouldn't even go up hardly, if at all. Probably would go down, because there would be WAYYYY more peoples money getting taxed. AND it would simplify the tax system. It would ALL be businesses getting taxed, and though it would create a little work for the businesses, they wouldn't be out any more money, in fact, they would save money also.

No, let's make LESS tax money if we can. Who best to decide where YOUR hard earned $ is spent? You () or politicians ()?

There is no such thing as a tax on business, as the costs are ultimately always passed on to consumers.

Taxes always go up -- it's a cold day in hell when they don't -- and then it's just a shell game -- coming out of another pocket.
Well, surely you agree, we HAVE to have taxation.

Ok, so then I'm sure you and me agree that we need to barbaricly cut spending. There will be pain at first, but in the long run, we would be better off as a country.

I'm more speaking in terms of how to handle it NOW and not how it should have been handled all along. We have to get to a point, and can't get there overnight.

Maybe I'm mis-interpereting the fair tax. But if we could get the taxes from EVERYONE, then yours and my taxes will go down. Right?!!!

Sure, I believe too, that it would only allow them an opportunity to spen more, and they would, but I'm for it because it lowers MY taxes due to EVERYONE paying. If nothing else, it's better than the current system.

Ok. I tried. Not feeling it on multiple levels.

I'm all in with Ron Paul though.

The problem apperently wasn't solved with the constitution. SHOULD be.... but isn't...

Something like 'Contract Insurance' should be a private industry thing. I only see Gov. abuse with such power AND I don't see how it would make enough money. Plus, what about the local entities? They'd have to tax you as well.....

35 years or so ago in Rhode Island we had no personal income tax. The governer who was well liked and respected was running for re-election and said we would need to have a personal income tax. His challenger said no we don't need an income tax. Well the governer was defeated because of that issue and within 2 years the new governor said well, it looks like we need an income tax.

thats Rhode Island.... imagine here where we recieve alot of oil royalties (much less than the average might i add) and sales tax due to tourism.. we could pass something like that... alas, the social leeches would drag us who pay more than our fair share, back to where we are today...

it's difficult to convince someone who generationally receives hand outs from the government that their monthy check will cease, but the roads, bridges, parks, and coastal protection will be better...
