'09 CTS-v
I haven't read it entirely yet, but according to a report in Motor Trend, the "09 CTS-v will have a slightly detuned version of the Corvette Z07 powerplant. Most are saying around 600HP for the Baby Caddy.
BMW 3-series and the MB SLK will really have to step up to keep up. I love the idea of more American Muscle being put into the American Luxury cars. Go for it Caddy....if you build it, they will come. |

I just want to see if they run that motor and keep the price the same. I looked at a 2006 CTS-V when it was new, and it was $51000 basically loaded. If that thing has anywhere over 500HP and costs around $50K, I'll be having a really hard time making the decision. I love the CTS in general.

![]() Anyway, I was reading an old issue of MotorTrend...and it had a huge, 3-4 page article on the 2008 CTS...so I'm reading, and reading...and I come aross this incredible detail(though most would consider it small). The front Bumper/Fender? It's gonna be made out of die-cast metal!!!! I read that single sentance over and over again! I couldn't believe it! So...I'm thinking, what could this mean for our Car's nose? |

"But the naturally aspirated Z06 engine is said to lack enough low-end torque for a car of the Cadillac's weight. The Z06 weighs just over 3200 pounds; the new CTS-v is likely to tip the scales at about 3600."
What is this world coming to when a 470 ft-lb engine doesn't have enough low end for a 3600lb car!?!? |
