I'll pass. Since Sixth Sense his movies have gone downhill. If it was someone else directing I would be interested.

I don't normally listen to critics toooooo much, but it got a 21 on metacritic. http://www.metacritic.com/film/titles/lastairbender

That's less than Furry Vengeance got.

I'm a big fan of the Anime version. Saw the movie today with my son.

I wasn't impressed. The acting and writing was really flat. I'm sure its hard to condense 8+ hours of story (book 1) into a 2 hour movie, but it didn't have any flow..bad story telling IMO.

Its set up for a trilogy, so hopefully the sequels get better. The one bright spot was Dev Patel. He nailed Prince Zuko.

Not likley, if the first one tanks, who makes a 2nd or 3rd.

Went and saw this last night. I was very, very disappointed. Directing, writing, acting... it just sucked. Literally the only good thing I found about the movie was the set design. What a waste of money, and it had so much potential.

P.S. - as far as making book 2 and book 3 even though the first movie tanked, it IS being funded by nickelodeon. They have rather deep pockets.

hm, well I went and saw Toy Story 3 instead of this tonight... honestly I can probably say it has been the best movie I've seen this year heheh. Very hesitant to waste money on Airbender, think I will wait and rent it instead.

Saw it this weekend and this is exactly what I thought. For a movie that had so much potential, they really screwed this one up :( .. it's a shame as I LOVED the cartoon!

it was alright, I'm sure it could have been better, way better. I was disappointed but it did keep me entertained. Even my nephew who watched all the anime was not impressed.

I have seen better film on teeth!

See, I think it's because I haven't seen the anime at all. I think that's why I actually enjoyed it and stated that in my post. The directing/wrting/acting wasn't as bad as the new star wars movies so I didn't mind it that much.
