I own a Glock 30 (.45 caliber short barrel), and most glocks are pretty indestructible. Glock 9mm guns are readily available and decent guns.

If you're new to handguns, Glock may not be the way to go. I have a Glock 22 mil-spec (.40) and I love it to death. But the lack of a safety can become an issue for people that don't carry often.

I have two Kimber Customs (Eclipse II and Covert II) and they're amazing. Both are .45 and the Covert II (my conceal) has a laser sight. I think they would be better for most because you have a safety on it, which will give you peace of mind.

I also have a Desert Eagle .44 Mag, but that's a little big to carry around, it's more of a conversation piece then anything...lol.

This Poll is WAY slanted to the Yes side...
Just because you vote no doesn't mean guns are bad and you don't like them.

I found it hard to vote either one since I'm a gun lover, but would rather read about it in the Gun Forums not the Car forums... just sayin..

Unless it's... where is the best place to legally conceal a weapon in a Camaro or how do you carry your deer rifle in the trunk...

haha, the only thing worse than being shot would to be shot by that.... How bad would it be to have a tombstone that reads "he was shot by a pink gun with a hello kitty on it".

+1, I own a handgun for protection but I'm not really "into guns". Seems like there would be plenty of forums for firearms. I'm here for the car talk. jmo

I still love my old Sig Sauer P-226 (9mm). It's going on twenty years old now, (Made in West Germany) but as far as a semi auto goes, I trust it! At that time there were several guns I was considering, but what swayed me back then was the fact that the U.S. Navy SEALS (who could have ANYTHING they want) chose that model. That's one endorsement that can't be questioned, and once I got it, I knew why!

Yes, and you all have the whole rest of the forum for that. This fits perfectly in the 'Off Topic' section and I am all for it My collection is just getting started, so far I have a Marlin M60 (lil .22 squirrel hunter) and a M94 Swedish Mauser.

Another thing to note: We already have a Sports Lounge sub-topic section, so a Hunting/Firearms subsection should be doable.

Glock 22 c is the way to go, in .40 s&w.

If you want something small, the new Taurus TCP or Ruger LCP in .380 are perfect.
