Yup

The 6.1's are getting old but still solid bullet proof motors that packs a punch... 36,xxx miles and still running strong ... shame my mom steals it from me from time to time ...

Yep, still a good motor. You can change out the heads, cam and intake and really make a screamer.

A full modded out, NA 5.7 can hit 525 HP. A fully modded out NA 6.1 can hit 600...which has more potential is obvious.

Is the RT getting an engine upgrade when the SRT gets the 6.4?

Rumors are floating of either the engine getting certified at its more than likely true HP, 400ish. OR..getting a new intake design, more aggressive tune and such to pick up more HP to get closer to 425.

Either way..it should be interesting!

It is really NOT overpriced. Drove an R/T this weekend (more on this later). Anyways, it was pretty loader, all the standards (power everything, CD, tilt and telescoping wheel), the classic package (stripes, leather, it had bluetooth, power seat, etc), and a sunroof. It is very similar to a Camro2SS and the 2010 GT I drove (more on that later too) in price and features. The new pricing is VERY comparable to the other 2 and this shows performance can be too.

I haven't had a single person want to race me in my SS yet, and I've had it for a month!

Just wanted to chime in about the 6.1. I have an uncle who bought a Charger SRT8 brand new in early 2008..he now has just over 60K miles on it and it still runs like new (after break-in, of course). He still loves his Charger. I just prefer the "feel" of the Camaro..or else I would have traded my TBSS for the faster Charger..but the Camaro just has a feel I love. For me, numbers are numbers..but when you get down to it..it's all about personal feel. Just enjoy your machines, whatever make they are (..unless you're pushing Toyota..then I retract my statement )

Charger SRT is not faster than an SS if driven correctly.

60,000 and still running like new? Just about any engine should be able to run to ATLEAST 150,000 problem free. 60,000 is just scratching the surface.

I got to say... I'd have a Challenger SRT8, Camaro SS, GT500, ZR1, SRT10 ACR, etc. And I'd mod the hell out of all of them...
