Edmunds had the camaro with the LS3 running 13.0 at 110.7 or so they had the mustang at 13.0 @ 110.3 or so. (camaro was ever so slightly faster, not sure exact numbers...go check) And yes...the srt-8 performance for the price was a "blower". One should just go GT500 or vette in that price range. |

But yeah your car will sound much better and has much more potential. I just figured you would be slightly pissed at ford and your buying decision after what has happened with performance. I woud probably trade in but who knows. |

350 3rd gens were always faster than fox bodies. The only thing the fox bodies could beat was the 305's.
Lt1 z28s/ss were still beating up mustang gts and the cobra ran about even with them. Then forgedaboutit when the ls1s came out. |

The LX notch back with a 5 speed could usually beat an L98 car if they had a really good driver.
Remember that the 350 3rd gen cars only had automatic transmissions. |

Faster, Classier, & Sexier "The 2010 Camaro!"
In the reporters defense the only way you can get a camaro to say RS on it from the factory is with a V-6. The SS can have the RS package but it will say SS. I know RS is an option and not a trim.
That aside, it was a pretty cool video. Did you notice that they pushed the mustang a little harder to make it look like it is better? First of all ,we the camaros, are the only ones with independent rear suspension of the three. If I'm correct. This alone makes the camaro better. All three cars look great ! But the challenger is out of date on the inside & the mustang looks good, but looks too small inside & out. The camaro looks good, handles good, is cool inside and out, it's just a way classier & sexier car ! I always think about buying a challenger or a mustang for another car besides the camaro if I had the money, but both of them just don't do it for me. I like to look at them, but don't desire to drive one. I was thinking of a 4 door charger like the police cars for daily driver might be nice or a 4X4 chevy silverado.

The challenger...having the most faithful to the orginal design of the three..is the best looking to my eye (subjective). The mustang being the smallest...makes it the best..not the worst via being small. It makes it handle better, more fun to drive, easier to see out of and easier to park. Have you ever heard anyone use the "yet but your porsche is too small to be any good argument"?..no....because smaller is often/usaully better in any sort of performance argument.

well...i wouldn't say it's not in first anymore just yet. this is the 2011 mustang vs. the 2010 camaro. let's see what the 2011 camaro has in it, if they change anything that is. or we could compare the 2010 camaro to the 2009 mustang? pretty much the same thing that's going on here.

The camaro produced the best lap times in all the comparisons I have read. It just doesnt "FEEL" as agile as the mustang....it is a bigger car. Also the slalom and figure 8 tests reflect this. The bigger car is not going to be as good in transitions. But these tests alone do net tell the entire story (not that the camaro did bad in these, just not as well as the TRACK PACK enhanced mustang). The camaros lap times show that it is capable.
Part of the reason the 10 maro beat the 10 GT in the lap times I am sure was because of the power advantage. But the camaro is not a bad handling sports car like some like to say. Especially when the stock springs and sways are changed...the car can really carve. If GM really wanted to compete with the mustang with the handling I dont know why they dont include a track pack like the mustang. The base price would still be the same. And like I said different springs and sways make it a whole new car...chevy was too conservative in this department. |
