Dump Truck vs Concrete Barrier
I just saw this on autoblog. The truck weighs 65,000 lbs and hits at 50 mph. The barrier is from the army corps of engineers.

I imagine they used steel plate, potentially welded to the dumper, as ballast. It was a test, not a real world event. Since it was a test, the important thing is to make it the worst case scenario which would be a load which does not go flying upon impact.
