My mom drove Kia's, they never held up worth a damn.

Not to mention the majority of my family refused to ride in it. Then again, we also refuse to ride in her Chevy Clown-Car, the Aveo5. lol.

My sister's Equinox is fantastic, if you're looking for that type of vehicle. Personally, I can't stand SUV's (unless you consider a Wrangler an SUV)

My guess is he is citing that as a feature should resale be a concern during the warranty period. However, anyone seriously considering buying a Kia anything is clearly not concerned about resale.

I'd rather drive and SUV than a minivan though.

Kia knows that nobody drives 20,000 per year. The extra 5 years is nearly meaningless on their warranty.

I'm about to get a 2010 equinox and was wondering. What are you guys getting for fuel mileage in yours, and what Engine/drive train combination are you using? This is the only thing I haven't decided upon yet. I want the fuel economy. Mostly because the next purchase I make, it doesn't really matter what it gets in terms of fuel economy

I would be looking to keep the SUV very long term. thats why the 10 year warranty is tempting. not for resale value. you cant say the words resale value and kia in the same sentence.

That makes zero sense. If people drive 12,000 miles a year, the warranty is good for ~8 yrs. 4 mo's. It's the chevy that throws in the meaningless miles, you end up with 40% of the warranty miles not worth a dime, it just looks good on paper.

Yup, it does look good on paper and depends on the buyer's driving habits.

These are just limited powertrain warranties anyway, not bumper to bumper.

but it covers most of the "expensive stuff" like yanno the engine and transmission. those are the things that are most expensive when you dont have a warranty

But whenever someone asks you what you drive you'll have to reply "A Kia"

Which in my book is just below "A Schwinn"

Wait a year and you can get the Kia for half price...that's how much they depreciate.

its funny you say that because KIA started out as a bike maker.

and i remind you that we already own a kia so the whole "we drive a kia" thing bounces off our skin nowadays.

and yes im well aware of the depreciation factor. but if you think about it. that alone gives kia a good reason to work hard on their reliability. to start making those figures turn around.
