I think some people underestimate the potential of the 2005-2010 models with the 3v 4.6. It is relatively low compression, weighs less than the 2011 and is forced induction friendly.

One could get a hell of a deal on a 2010 GT and slap a blower on it and spank the 2011 all day long. The 2011 will not be forced induction friendly putting it at a disadvantage.

The more I look at the specs and think about the 2010 we got the wife the more I am in favor of it. Kenne Bell anyone? :-D

My Dad had a Vette and his business partner had a GT at the time and they told me these crazy things!
Your dad must not have been able to drive very well.

For that reason, I think the Camaro will have the dragstrip advantage. I've driven a measely 09 Bullitt Mustang, and it was very fun to drive, fishtailing on the 1-2 shift, spinning the tires easily and all, but it was slow.
I'll say it again.

It's a miracle Ford just now decided aluminum was a good material to use for an engine block. ""
Dude, I am not trying to disrespect you at all so please don't get me wrong here.

I know IRS will add weight, but IRS is good for some things and solid rears are better for thoers. The truth is they said the GT500 was more liveable and comfortable on roads than a Vette which has IRS. I know guys that took their Terminators and swapped the IRS for solid rears. and the SVT Perf Pack will stiffen the GT500 up this year. It's in the atricle I posted I believe.

And I'm not a Ford guy so the last comment doesn't freak me out at all. I like and respect both companies and criticize both. Ford loved their built to last, tough, Iron Block. I agree it should've had an aluminum all along, but Ford felt they had no reason to switch it. I think the Z28 talk got them to do it. Maybe they could've spent the money earlier on Aluminum Blocks if they got handed bailouts too. Unfortunately Ford wasn't handed money from the US to try and fix the terrible mess they got themselves into.

Don't get me wrong I'm glad on one hand GM got it. But at the same time you make a mistake and you should pay for it, but not with other people's money.

(the "bailouts" comment was ridiculous, though...totally unrelated, and misinformed)

Man I was only joking too!

I am glad that both companies are doing better than before. I even am glad Dodge is doing better than dead. Although if one has to go it's them, if you're holding a gun to my head of course!

But seriously as long as I don't have to ever turn on FOX Business again and see .12 cents next to GM or Ford stock I think I can die happy!

I wonder if some of you Ford guys can explain how the CTS-V, an almost 4300 lb 556hp 4 door sedan can blow the doors off a 3900 lb 540 hp GT 500, both wearing the same size tire?

No actually he is one of the best drivers I know and actually raced Motor Bikes and Trans Am races when he was younger. 5.0 GT Mustangs, at the time, didn't need much to catch a Vette. Shouldn't you be out putting gas in your Mom's Trailblazer? Wouldn't want to bring it home empty!

Not sure. But I wonder why on God's green earth GM would ever label a truck with the sacred letters: "SS"?

But seriously, I respect your opinion, but just understand my point of view!
Nah, it's all good Commander, I respect it especially from a prior Vette owner like myself! I would actually rather have a C6 Z06 myself, but not in the cards financially Regarding that Shelby, yeah I was in the next lane on the freeway, behind a few cars and at a glance it was hard to tell... No Camaro yet, on order...waiting sucks....the Shelby had no problem dusting my old beater car
