The Officer was WRONG. No two ways about it. He was either wrong for pulling him over or was wrong for not writing him up.

There isnt enough information to determine if he was just profiling. But I know Drug enforcement officers here in MD will pull you over if you are coming from an area that they are investigating. They want to know who you are, to see if you have any priors and to know who is coming and going. Its called fishing, and IMO is wrong too.

Here in MD it isnt procedure to pull you from the car on routine traffic stop either. You need to find out if that is procedure in LA and if not file a complaint. That type of officer brings a bad name to law enforcement. He needs to be stopped.

I honestly couldn't even get to the bottom of this post. This might be the most poorly written post I've ever seen. I'm not big on spelling, punctuation, grammar, etc. but when I can't even distinguish one sentence from another there's something wrong. Anyway, hope it all worked out, whatever happened.

Right there with you. 'a nothre' was yet another reason I quit.

Does anyone teach spelling and punctuation any more? And I am not trying to be rude to the OP, but come on! Read the posts before you post them. It is stuff written like this that will get you thrown into the "stupid, Mullet wearing knuckledragers in Metallica t-shirts" ownership stereotype that magazine writers love to tout. Sorry if I offended you or anyone else.

And the cop was wrong if you were not breaking the law.

The officer was not wrong on either. He was in the right to pull him over for the tint and it was his discretion about whether or not to issue him a ticket.

Laws are laws but how they are applied is arbitrary. See the discussion: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...=67117&page=12

I think you're right - he should have demanded a ticket or two.

Notice for LEO:

Giving a Warning = You're a bad apple that's in the wrong and must be stopped.

Giving a Ticket
= You're a douche. Should have given a warning.

Do Nothing = You're a doughnut eating waste of tax dollars.

Maybe you guys should just drive around until you stumble across a fatality you can call in.

I don't know what to tell you, other than you handled the situation pretty well considering the circumstances. I'm not sure who you would complain about this sort of behavior to, but it doesn't seem lawful to be treated in this manner just to receive a warning.
Just depends where you are Justin. Go through Alamo Heights without a front license plate or doing 26 in their 25 zones. Shertz is also reknown for their pita enforcements. The rest of SA is pretty laid back. I pulled up to a stop sign by the house which SAPD arrived at first. He waved me through and I am thinking here we go.. He gives me a big thumbs up so I waved as I passed. I have even talked to a few that just came out to Bigs to look at cars and talk smack.

Yeah, that's why I made sure to point out SAPD only. I avoid Alamo Heights, Leon Valley, Shavano Park, Hollywood park, and Live Oak like the plague.

But the OP was pulled out of his car, patted down, and made to wait outside the officer's squad car as he was written a warning. That just amazes me.
