lol "big honk'en" and "6.2" don't belong in the same sentance.

It should be about even with the camaro, but the new GT will probably have the edge though.
well heard it going to be over 3600lbs.. they never said how much LoL

well Mustang GT will have the edge power to weight ratio and tighter gears.
Only camaro ss still has is the engine can handle more power throw at it.
Im disappointed that ford went 11.1:1 compression

I guess you'll just have to wait until the Motor Mags (i.e. Car and Driver, Motor Trend, Road and Track ,etc.) put the two to a test at the strip...it will be close...

they make a 6.4L turbo..

they make a 351w (392ci) and a 521ci

really if I was ford I would of fuel injected a 351w and redesign it a lil in aluminum for lightness and off u go.. 430HP forged internals..

You got that right. Bottom line, these cars are gonna be very close in performance. A driver's race in the 1/4 mile. Let's not forget something.
Ford putting more power in the Mustang is a GOOD thing.

Ford does. They have engines ranging through 6.8. And they also have a 6.2 on the way.

Either way, even calling a 6.8 "big honk'en" would be a stretch, let alone a lil ol 6.2.

Well, it's a whole new engine top to bottom other than bore spacing/centers.

I'm interested in how this new engine is going to sound. I saw that they put a different firing order in it, it has the old Flat head v8 firing order. And the cylinder heads are supposed to be better than even the Ford GT heads!

I'm a fan of both cars and I'm lovin' these new pony wars

My prediction: the new 2011 'stang GT is going to be a little quicker in a straight line, and also a little quicker around a track, than the SS.

I say that because the 2010 GT is only a hair behind the SS, with 315 HP versus 426 . . . boost that 315 up to 412 and it seems pretty obvious that the hair will be going in the other direction . . . yes the new GT is going to be a little heavier than the 2010 model, but it will still have roughly 300 lb weight advantage

Can't wait to see the next round of shoot-out tests!

He was making a joke based on all the Mustang vs Camaro threads. He of all people knows a 6.2 would not be considered big honkin.
