I thought for sure they would bring back the Grand National with the turbo v6......hmmm, looks like if they do it will have two lungs cut off.

The aforementioned 255hp 2.0L Turbo is an excellent motor, and should power the Regal GS splendidly. The European Opel version of the Regal (Insignia) is highly regarded, so the US Regal should be a great car.

I think getting the age group that would buy a Regal to accecpt a 4 cyl is going to be an uphill climb. I know alot of that age group that were burnt on the turbo 4's in the 80's.

I would sit back and wait dude , see where Buick goes with this ,I think we will see more and more 4 and 6 lung engines kickin out pretty good power...in fact down the road 8 lungers may be history unless you build them.
I waiting for them to start putting alcohol injection units on the turbos from the factory....
The Buick will always be cheaper than the Catfish....more bells and luxury on the Catfish...

GM can't be trapped by nostalgia in every one of their lines. People (here at least) get upset whenever GM moves in a different engine direction in any line, but they have to have a few car lines where they can move fuel efficient 4s.

It's a great engine from my experience with my car. Absolutely no shortage of power.

Guess I'm in the minority. I kinda like the direction GM is taking the Buick, especially the turbocharged versions. I'll reserve final judgement till I drive one but I think it would be perfect for my wife, fuel efficient the way she drives and fun the way I would drive it

I disagree. Buick is looking to target a younger market, because they can't sell many more cars to their current demographic. People looking at the GS won't be the typical 60 year old. AWD, turbocharged, manual transmission, brembo brakes, recaro seats ... this ain't your grandpa's Buick.

I also like the direction GM is heading in. Sure, there will always be a stream of customers for full-sized trucks and SUV's, but it is refreshing to see GM adding good products in the other segments as well.

Is there a curb weight for the Regal GS yet, or any Regal? Given the right weight, the GS could prove to be a powerful little car.

After translating the German Opel site I have found that the Insignia OPC weighs 3982 lbs, including the driver. Base a weight estimate around that.

I was looking at the GS concept for my next car once I graduate. Everything sounds good but It wouldn't hurt to have a little more power from the factory. Hopefully by the time I'm out there will be a GSX with a turbo V6.
