OP the cars you mentioned are all import tuners, they usually ARE respected because they are badass cars as you mentioned. The term rice doesn't only apply to just people in japanese cars, like civics anymore, it applies to any person that drives a car that has mods that just don't make sense. A guy driving a civic with an Evo spoiler (the really big one that looks good on an evo) is just as ricey as a stock Cavalier with 13" clip on spinners and a decal on the window that says HKS.. I'm not trying to come at anyones cars personally but if your car fits these descriptions and you go around trying to race everyone at red lights then your a ricer. another word for a ricer is a "boy racer" usually the same thing.
