I don't think USC will be just fine. They still have the 5 yr old issue with the NCAA and Reggie Bush, the deal with McKnight driving his g/f's new booster bought SUV. Then you have Kiffin who's had 3 jobs in the past 12 months and is 12-21 in two yrs with the Raiders and the Vols. I honestly never thought I'd see things looking this bleak for USC, not in my lifetime. Hell, Notre Dame is probably sitting back saying thank God we didn't have to go through THAT much BS.

It's amazing that they are celebrating hiring a guy with a losing record.

And yes, Weis had a better record at ND than Kiffin has had as a head coach. And Weis was horrible.

It is amazing how kiffin managed to fail his way into better and better jobs. Raiders -> UT -> USC

Hmmmmm and he got on the radio this afternoon and said this..........

"I'll repeat it again, I'm happy at Texas and plan to be here for a long time," Muschamp said.

" I was never contacted about another job and that's why I never felt compelled to talk before now. But when reports started getting out that I may have interviewed with another school or offers have been brought to my attention thats when I had to step in because none of that is true.
I contacted all of our recruits and there coaches this morning and informed them I'm staying Put We have unfinished business here at Texas "

They even had one of our recruits speak tonight from ft worth dunbar and he said Coach muschamp called him and told him to concentrate on getting ready for college no need to listen to something that isnt the truth.

if he does take something and leave after doing that he wont be a good recruiter for long !

I can understand the guy getting a (possibly) once-in-a-lifetime chance at his dream job and taking it. Seriously, who wouldn't? Not really his fault the job happened to open up when it did, right? I certainly think he could have handled it better though, such as:

a) He didn't have the balls to field questions after announcing his departure (a real man would have defended his personal decision about his and his family's lives in a firm yet respectful manner instead of tucking tail and running)

b) Orgeron calling our recruits is TOTAL B.S. Yeah, I know what they're saying, we'll see.

c) In his acceptance speech at USC tonight Lame said the reason UT fans are pissed about his departure is because we liked what he was doing for our program. Really now, his stellar 7-6 season was enough to incite a riot at the thought of losing him. He couldn't just admit the timing sucked and totally f-ed up our recruiting right before signing day. That fella has spent so much time building himself up that when he falls, and he will eventually, it's gonna be a loooong way down.

Well, at least he used a Trojan when he screwed us.

LMAO! From what I've read about the guy, he is one of those people who could sell ice to an Eskimo.

An ESPN reporter pointed out that he has half as many NCAA violations (six), as total wins (12).

Look at how much crap Kiffin stirred up during his short tenure with Tenn. He tried to throw Meyer under the bus, his program is being investigated for possible NCAA violations (which may or may not have involved Kiffin) and then he gives a 5 minute resignation notice. Wow, that's a real credible guy and I can completely understand why Garrett and USC would hand over the reigns to him.

Given Kiffins history both at UT and USC, if the NCAA finds anything at all at USC they're gonna bring the hammer down on 'em....

Actually they already have found 6. They were minor violations though. They are being investigated for more. I believe the NCAA is still looking into Tennessee sending "hostesses" to hang out with high school recruits. The hostesses were used during Kiffin's tenure.
