Lamborghini Countach vs Ferrari Testarossa

I would have to choose a Ferrari over a Lambo HANDS DOWN.........But one of thee I wouldn't throw out of my garage either!

Id own them both but the COUNTACH would be a garage queen.

The TESTAROSSA would be a daily driver.

One of the reason I like the TESTAROSSA is its 80s styling, I could drive it anywhere and it wouldn't feel like I was to much out of place or showing off like getting MCDonalds in a COUNTACH. And id probably tell strangers the TESTAROSSA is a cheap fiero kit car on its last leg so they would lose intrest.

A COUNTACH would need a 24/7 365 guard that would be way out of place running to get some milk, unless you lived donwtown LA.

Which is nice about the TESTAROSSA for my area, old folks will be driving caddys n lincolns that cost more then it and are worth more to steal.

Bugatti is the best car nowdays, i supose, no question about it ,but the 80-90th supercars was the best because of there were no tracktion control,radios ,some electronic systems and other...Just you,engine ,clutch and the road

you can tell about countach the same fiero story, i saw a lot of countach kit cars here is some photoes from russian exotic cars museum. They telling people that this is real countach ,for me it was funny

The Lambo is to "hey look at me" to be a daily driver and blend in.

Same with the Bugatti n others, Id own them all but id have to have a big lifestyle change too.

I can still live where I am and park a 30K Testarossa out front, and drive it rain snow or shine like I do my Firebird.

I can justify the 30K Testarossa and still be me as me neighbor paid more for his Lincoln. Im not putting on airs having a 100K car to run and pick up milk from the corner.

Firstly I don't know where you believe you'd get a Testarossa for 30k, try 45-50k minimum. Secondly daily driving an 80's Ferrari will test your bank account to no end. They were not known for reliability of any sort, and try changing the oil in one or doing some other maintenance on your own and you will discover what the 3rd ring of hell is like. Thirdly... the snow .....in a car low enough to be a plow....

In terms of physically handling the snow I'm sure it would survive. BUT ride height wise it is far lower than your firebird which would make anything more than an inch or two trouble, the tires are wider, and the fact its an Italian sports car will make you think twice when you realize the cost to repair it if you even cause minor damage. Or the fact the finicky electronics will LOVE the cold weather and the road salt which will lead to more expensive repair bills. Heck you might not even be able to get the doors open in the cold. Theres a reason these cars have such low mileage on them, you need to do a lot more research before even thinking of something like that.

Theres also a reason these cars get parted out a lot or sold cheap, its cause sometimes people see a low-ish price, and stretch to buy it, only to be greeted with repair bills disproportionate to what you paid and the value of the car. Ask all the people buying 10+ year old Mercedes Benz S-Classes how they feel when they need to do a $1,000+ brake job on a "$20,000" car.

There are so many reasons in the world that this is a bad idea.

uhhh guys hate to be the bearer of bad news but with both cars YOU WILL BE GIVING YOUR ARMS A WORK OUT due to the fact that both cars especially the ferrari HAS NO POWER STEERING until the later 512TR,however the faster you drive the easier the steering is,so I hope you make freinds with the local and county police forces for the ensuing speeding tickets.The belt service,clutch and oil change around 12kmi will set you back $10 grand.The Countach's pedal and gear lever are pretty heavy.The only Ferrari i've ever driven was an 1987 328 GTSi QV,the clutch on that was just like a chevy's as far as pedal travel and there was no power steering but DAMN did that v8 sound good.
THE CHEAPEST Testarossa I've seen for sale was $57,000
The countach you can expect to pay anywhere from $85,000 on up for a real one with a decent amount of miles racked up.

Rogue is quite right with these cars testing your wallet because services on any italian exotic isn't cheap.I have freinds who work at Both a lamborghini and ferrari and aston martin dealerships and I trust what they say.
a Clutch for a Gallardo is $6,700,a Murcielago is $14,000 parts and labor
a clutch for an F430 is $7,000 parts and labor.
BTW Just because you buy say Lamborghini Gallardo for say $90,000 on the cheap side for a 2004,you're not paying for a service on a $90,000car you're paying for services on a $200,000 car because that's how much the car cost when it was new so that parts that were made for that car will cost accordingly.....
