If you need marriage to lock in the commitment for you - if you can't stay commited to each other without being married - you shouldn't have gotten married in the first place. Just my two cents.

THIS STATISTIC IS FALSE!!!

This was taken from an article where somebody looked at divorce counts and marriage counts for a year and saw "wow, there were half as many divorces this year as there were marriages."

NOT ONLY is that not true on a yearly basis, but that doesn't count all of the marriages that DID NOT END IN DIVORCE from all previous years. The true divorce rate is closer to 1 in 8 marriages.

P.S. - Sorry for the outburst, but that statistic is thrown around by so many people in our society that most people seem to think its fact, which its really just a load of BS. Its a personal pet peave of mine.

Well, the reason I believe that statistic is because of the people I know, more than half have gotten a divorce since being married...
