I said 5.4 or 5.0 we just don't know yet which motor willl be under the hood , my quess is the 5.0 if so it will sell like hot cakes

I still don't understand how this is possible unless they revamp the entire motor. And granted; I don't follow Ford's powertrain well enough to actually hold a conversation...but here's what's going through my head:

Modular = same block/design as the 4.6L
5.0 = bored/stroked out .4L more than a 4.6L....how the hell do they plan on getting 100 more hp out of .4 liters?

It’s a different motor altogether and from what I have been reading up on, the motor will not be out until the new platform is developed… So basically, when the mustang is redesigned it gets the new power plant…

RUMORS RUMORS RUMORS no one knows for shure Nov 19 will be a BIG day for FORD I think the new motor will arrive much sooner , Ford has to compete with the new muscle in town if it want's to keep it's market leadership and they know it...

Could be, but I’m hearing same 4.6 with 315 HP and a face lift; which is obvious from the pics. New motor when total redesign starts.

The only muscle to worry about is the Camaro. The Challenger is no threat at all,the SRT8 can barely outrun the Bullitt,the R/T will have its hands full with V6 Camaros and the V6 Genesis.

The 5.7 Hemi V8 in the Challenger R/T actually makes some good #'s... 375hp, 401ft torque... Its problem however is its weight. Because it weighs just over 4000lbs is what is making it slow.

Edmunds.com did a quick review on the R/T and got it to do 0-60 in 5.9 seconds... and from a rolling start in 5.7 seconds... Which indicates to me that its weight is really hindering it's performance... I only mention that because the Cobalt SS Turbo stock is just as quick...

more like it indicates edmunds blows. There is an article from dodge saying that 0-60 for the rt is 5.5...so expect 5.4-5.3 and with a manual 5.2-5.3....amazing numbers for the weight.
