Repsectfully Disagree.

That is the historical profit margin on a gallon of gas by the oil companies. which is in line with the quarterly profit margin of the oil companies around 6-9%. The gas stations can charge what ever they want as long as they aren't found guilty of price gouging. The 4-6% the oil company charges is part of the gas station cost. They mark it up from there.

Hmm. Alrighty then, you sound like you've done more research than the casual onlooker (me!) so I'll bow down to you on this one. It just feels wrong for some reason to me, when compared to the ridiculous profits reported every quarter the last few years.

not necessary.

I don't mean to say that I'm completely cool with what's happening with the Oil companies. They deal in trillions of dollars... Hard for me to grasp day to day business with that amount of money.

But when you look at the numbers It doesn't seem that they are that out of whack.

If they are caught doing something unethical or illegal, Burn em to the ground.
