it's not the price of the tires entirely (no pun intended), i don't like the different size front/back. just want regular 'ol tires same size all around

Easy to do! I am running P275/40ZR20 & 20 x 9 rims on the front as well as the stock ones on the back...no issues. Rotation of tires is now on the scheduled maintenance list

THAT's what I want to be able to rotate the little buggers!!! Problem is I know nada about car stuff including tires. Thus not enough to know what to ask for. "P275/40ZR20 & 20 x 9" means absol-freakin-utely nothing to me. I could walk into a tire place and be sold anything and not know the difference.
