No apparently what I wrote went right over your head though. I seriously don't get why you think not claiming 5 BS championships absolves you for the half dozen you do...

My reason is I like to see intellectual honesty among people. As I pointed out with my "NFFC" example, claiming championships after the fact based on the works of random yahoos using made up formulas is absolutely ludicrous and far from intellectually honest. Anybody can sit down and make up a "champion formula" that could make just about any team champion on any given year.

Q: Even counting the random ass groups the NCAA recognizes you only have 10, so WTF does 12 come from?

I'm not trying to tear down Bama in any way shape or form. I like Bama and enjoy watching them play, especially in Tuscaloosa if my Tide buddy can scrounge a ticket for me (especially if its the MSU game).

I think they've got a great history one which doesn't need to be inflated with bogus claims. In fact if anything, they're hurt by those inflated claims because continually defending them makes "the faithful" look like a big fat ****ing joke.

I am not, however, so stuck on them to lose my rational thinking ability whenever someone points out the dubious nature of claiming championships given by random people, sometimes decades, after the fact.

I don't have to claim anything because I'm not the one with the inflated ego and bogus claims. My school is not a football powerhouse, has never been and probably never will be. Thats not a barrier barring me from using my brain to realize that half the championships Bama claims are bullshit.

Random groups giving out awards does not a champion make.

Instead of just blowing off what I'm saying about them would you care to take a stab of explaining exactly how the illustrious likes of "Football Thesaurus", Dunkel, Williamson, Houlgate, Helms Foundation, Davis, are legit "champion selectors" compared to taking the AP or the old UPI polls that are the broadly accepted method?

Somehow I think I might be waiting a while for a coherent response on that...

I allready know YOU want him.

But let's face it. He's played in 4 NC games in the passed 9 years. That's almost half. Only won one of them but hey, he can coach. It's not choking if you're beat by a team that was supposed to beat you anyway. He just played against teams that were SICK with talent in the years he played them. USC, LSU, Florida.

Been a bit different since MIKE left.

First of all I'm not an OU fan by any means. I don't think Stoops is going anywhere. Why would he . As pointed out earlier he's been to 4 NC games in the last 9yrs with one NC under his belt. That's more than many coaches have done in a lifetime. I think OU is a premiere program with quality players and few problems. Any other job would just be a step sideways in my opinion. Even the other schools in the Big 12 will tell you that OU is having an off year as opposed to where they are usually at.

Stoops is a quality guy that is held to a higher standard because of his boss. David Boren is a man that demands excellence in academics as well as athletics. I would bet OU's average GPA is higher than most of the top 25 teams average with the exception of a few schools. This is just a observation on my part and an opinion. It's worth what you paid for it.

Oklahoma is having a normal season for someone who had to replace there whole offensive line. For OU its a down season all teams have this every once in a while.
Since Mike Stoops left the deffense has not been the same at OU.
Bob will continue to recruit and will always be near the top of the big12 in recruiting as long as he is at OU.

If OU were to get rid of Bob stoops it would be one of the biggest mistakes they will have ever made. Thats coming from a Longhorn.

OU is not having a bad season because of Bob stoops. Its becoming harder than it used to be to get recruits and reload now every so many years you have 1 down year then you climb back up again.

next year will be our down year then we will climb again.

OU, Texas, UF, FSU and a few other big schools are going to be wearing special lightweight Nike Combat Jersey's during 1 game.... for UF it's our last home game.
