Ok, I'll be that guy lol...
Production to start 2027 for a 2028 model....Ok, not holding my breath...that's plenty of time for GM to change their minds and cancel the thing just in the nick of time, that is if they really planned on producing it in the first place...lol |

I believe it will be 2 door coupe as they seek the splash and excitement, and hopeful success with the name in it's original form before adding a Camaro E-SUV.
The used Camaro market says the demand is there for a new Camaro. Also Corvette starts at $75k for a base model so they likely aren't getting the crossover from the Camaro sales to the Corvette they probably hoped for either.

The new gas charger does all that while also giving awd but its sales are complete crap as of right now in the Q1 sales. The Mustang which is more performance orientated less trunk space, laughable back seat space, and with a truck opening that isn't much better than my Camaro one (yes I have driven the new Mustang GT and experienced it) is selling way more than the more daily driver orientated Charger. (Not talking about the EV one) in fact the new daily driver orientated Charger only sold 600 more gas units than the discontinued Charger of last gen. If Chevy wants the Camaro to succeed they need to compete with the Mustang not the new Charger which goes that Daily Driver practicality route. EDIT: Since from what I read its being based on the Alpha 2 platform it probably will be more performance orientated anyway since the Buick Sedan will be the more practical one with the V8. With a better platform I can see a little tweaking to keep the same or better performance on the track while having what some people want. Dodge went the compromise route by a lot even more than last generation and right now its not working for them. Those Chargers are sitting on lots near me being discounted. GM needs to get the word out. Pomo the hell out of this. Advertisements.
Get ads going through all the big streaming channels and social media. Make people salivate over it before production even starts. Maybe start with a black screen. Then short snippets of every Camaro generation from ‘67 RS/SS 396 culminating in a ‘24 ZL1, all driving fast, shifting gears in quick flashes to the beat of a heart. That gets faster and faster. Then cuts out to black again. Fade in a simple phrase with only the Camaro logo - “America’s Heartbeat returns in 2028”

Isn't the base price around 60 grand for a Scat Pack? That's nuts.

Its like 55 Grand for the starting Scat pack and the RT is 48k I believe. They are being discounted already though cause they are just sitting on lots. Some dealers as much as 10% off sticker. To be fair though a Mustang GT is not far from that if you get the options most would want or the Mustang you would find on the Dealership lot. A couple of Dodge dealers near me has had the same sixpack chargers on the lot since end of December when they started rolling out and they have more added to it. They might have sold maybe 1 or 2 in that time total. |

Didn't the gas Charger just go on sale like 3 months ago, at most? I really wouldn't be doom and gloom about it yet. Also, it has a couple things working against it: 1) No V8 model yet (or ever?) 2) The price is high for the Scat Pack, higher than its ever been. The cheaper RT model literally just launched. I dunno if its even on dealer lots yet. 3) The US economy is circling the drain and 'no new wars' turned into 'know new wars!!!' for oil. People aren't going to be quick to buy new cars with lower mpg right now. |

Its not been 3 months they started hitting dealer lots at the end of December. So that being said only 1k units in four months (soon to be 5 months on sale) is not great even if the RT hasn't hit the lots yet the Scatpack starting is only 4-5k higher than the starting of the RT and the options people would get on the RT put it close to the starting price of the Scat pack where those options are standard anyway. The Mustang which is also a lower MPG car not only has increased sales but completely destroyed a new release Sixpack Charger car. Q1 has showed us that despite the economy the Mustang is hitting strides. EDIT: Dodge has been teasing 777 in their ads or social media posts for the charger. For reference the returning RamTRX hellcat has 777 hp. They have not been subtle with it though there has been no official announcement. |
