I ended up getting the Scoggin Dickey LS6 power max plus cam. It was here within 24hrs and was like $320.

Headers and Y pipe will be here monday from speed engineering, with spark plug wire sleeves, for like $590

The current clutch is so tight that she struggles to drive it, so i ordered a stock LS6 flywheel and clutch kit. And a slave cylinder for a 2002 car without self adjusting. Which i didn't know of that for some reason.

$800 from rockauto for random things. Window motors, a/c compressor and lines, all the clutch stuff, rear hatch lift supports, oil pan gasket, rear main seal cover.

The car already has new plugs and wires, water pump and main belt. Subframe connectors, UMI adjustable torque arm.

Installing the cam today and the worst thing happened... i just cleared the second cam journal and i heard a lifter drop...
My daughter was like "are lifters not supposed to drop?"

So obviously it kinda killed any motivation i had. It was about lunch time and summit is like 20 mins away. I made a plan to go eat lunch and then we will head over to summit to get a head gasket set.

Toward the end of lunch i decided, why dont we just order it and just work on other stuff for the rest of the day. When we get back she was like "why don't to just put it back?" I told her it's not really an option because it has to be inserted from the top where the head is bolted on.

I looked in from the bottom since the oil pan is off, and i was wonder "what if i just used a flex magnet and just put it back in from where it fell out?. Ive never heard of anyone doing that and i had nothing to lose.

I used 2 magnets to hold on to the body next to the roller. I put it back and i was like No Fn way! That worked!

We got it running today. She drove it and said it seemed fine, i drove it and i can feel a vibration at higher rpm when on throttle. I would usually say it's the driveshaft but it feels different. Like maybe the flywheel balance.
Its still open headers so i need to get the exhaust built before i start trying to dig into diag.

The new cam definitely has more midrange power.
