Now I know why the Cowboys always win at home vs the EAST, the refs are definitely on the payroll.

I didn`t even watch the game

I was footballed out after the early slate of games

The Nature Channel is in free preview and its Big Cat Week and I love Lions so I did a few hours of big cat mania

I looked at an interesting stat on rest days.

These are the difference between playing every Sunday for 17 weeks and having Monday and Thursday games sprinkled in

I then looked at the teams records with more rest days and the teams with the fewest rest days.

First the Most Rest Days

Lions(13) 7-4

Dolphins(11) 4-7

LAR (10) 9-2

Seattle (8) 8-3

SF 49ers (8) 8-4

Now the least rest days

LVR (-19) 2-9

NOS (-14) 2-9

Wash (-12) 3-8

Bills (-8) 7-4

Browns (-7) 3-8

As you can see there are only 2 anomalies the Fins with a losing record in the first group and the Bills with a winning record in the second group.

I am now going to do some research on travel miles per team and records for my next post.

So now we cross check the lists with travel

Two that really stood out

Right away I can tell you the Bills have the 2nd easiest travel at 10,500 miles the Bengals have the easiest at 8,700 miles

The Fins are 8th worst in travel at 24.400 miles the Chargers are worst at 37,000

All the teams with the most miles have a European game and took their bye the following week

I cannot see too much correlation between rest days plus travel and records.

It really looks like it comes down to coaching and preparation.

Just like the league likes to say.

I see winning a Super Bowl doesn't buy your team any leeway when it comes to fan expectations.

The Philly boo birds were out in full force as the upstart Bears had their way with the Eagles defense which is supposed to be the stronger of the 2 main units.

I notice a lot of restlessness amongst the fans of quite a few fan bases Bills Mafia included.

Marv Levy wisely said "when you start listening to the fans you will soon be sitting with them"

Wise words and nice warning to teams that fan overreaction is just that and unreasonable expectations are always going to be a thing that teams need to deal with.

My personal opinion is they should be running the ball with SB more

The Eagles and the Ravens have the 2 highest paid RB's in the league and they are both under utilized.

The other parallel is both teams QB's are struggling Lamont has zero TD's passing or rushing in his last three games and 5 turnovers.

The Bills claimed Darius Slay off waivers

He was a healthy scratch vs the Bills last Sunday and was released right after the game.

He will now patrol the secondary for the Bills and could play vs the Eagles in a few weeks.

Didn't they(Eagles) cut him and the Steelers got him?

As a vested vet he gets to choose where he goes and with Philly on the schedule in week 17 he may be in a look at the mistake you made mode.

Glad he is a Bill we need Vet mentors for or young guys in the secondary.

The Eagles did put in a claim but the Bills have a higher waiver priority.
