It's about time. They have done zip to update those two vehicles and the sales have reflected that. This is in essence "getting off the pot". If you're my age you understand that last statement.

Chevys Trax while gas is priced right in the territory and I think a decent alternative. I see quite a few of them on the road.

Imo, if they offered a 4 wheel drive option and something other than a 3 cylinder, they would sale even more. It would be a good competitor for the Subaru CUV's. It's sold over seas as the Chevy Seeker and they have a V6, V4, and all wheel drive as options but they won't offer that over here.

People buying Subaru's aren't cross shopping. It's a different breed of loyalty.

I'm not a fan of Korean vehicles. First gen trax 1.4 is probably one of least reliable engines ever built. The newer 1.5 ones I've really only seen head gaskets leaking oil and injector seals fail for no reason. Vacuum pumps lock up and take out the exhaust cam.

I'm not sure if it's the metal they use or just machining imperfections, but the Korean built cars seem to just be built around the idea that it needs to make it through warranty and that's about it.
Trax, sonic, cruze, encore all seem to be consistent with it. But surprisingly the transmissions seem to hold up pretty well.

There is always brand loyalty but there is also a ton of people that want a 4 wheel drive vehicle but don't want a big SUV or a truck. For those wanting a normal size car, basically your only choices are Subaru or Audi and most people think Audi is out of their price range. Your biggest loyalty lies with those who buy the WRX and Outback but all the others are mostly because there is no real competition for a 4 wheel drive car.

Ats and cts came in awd. Ct4 and ct5 do also.
Civics do apparently.
Most of the infiniti line sedans have awd options.

ATS and CTS are no longer made so not really an option for those wanting a new vehicle.

CT4, CT5, and Infiniti awd options start at $50k and go up. Subaru's start at $25-$30k. So this argument is the exact same as Audi's, being out of normal people's price range.

Civic's don't have awd, well not atleast according to their site. Went to their build tool and didn't find a single model that has awd as an option.

So you basically confirmed what I said above, there really is no competition for Subaru.

But this is going way off topic so...

The Corolla AWD is a hybrid. Hybrid/ICE up front, electric at rear. I have a '24. On the 18k mile OE Avid GT all seasons, it does very good in the winter. It would be a tank with winter tires.

Is it plug in hybrid or just traditional hybrid?
