All these wonderful fast, "put adjective here" cars... And none have a removeable roof. I.E. CONVERTIBLE!

I know, I know... I am the minority.

But I will take anyone of these "faster than GAS" EVs on a bet that from my house, I "my ZL1 Vert" across the state, Do a few runs on 226a, then head west and drop the tail, and come back to do 226 up and 226a down. Come home all in a faster time.

Convertibles need chassis bracing. EV’s need batteries.

Besides in Queen Mary’s future you won’t be driving at all - you will just sit there in a seat with no wheel or pedals, and be told what to do by OnStar XI. It will indoctrinate you subliminally while it safely gets you to your destination on its own.

Convertibles are for fun. You will not be permitted to have fun.

You will listen to Hal. Hal will not listen to you.

I thought one of the new possibilities from EVs would be convertibles. The batteries and the platforms actually are more rigid.

The Hummer EV comes to mind with removable roof/t-tops made possible by the battery and surrounding construction. Maybe not, not sure.

Anyhoo, the one thing we won't see with EVs as promised will be a low price. Remember the sales pitch of no exhaust system (the roads would be littered with ICE mufflers having fallen off), no coolant system, no pesky spark plugs, etc., etc. that would all make EVs less costly to manufacture? Probably all cost savings somewhere if you keep it for ten years, just no savings on the MSRP....lol

The EV transition eerily parallels the push to build the windmill on Animal Farm. (Read it if you haven't yet, the similarities are uncanny in more ways than one.)

I think EVs are much like the guitarist Buckethead, technically brilliant but to most people ultimately boring.

I look at Dave Matthews Band the same way. Brilliant musicians each and every one of them, and Dave is a craftsman songwriter.

But their music is absolutely unlistenable to me.

Now, somebody cranks up The Rolling Stones Shattered? I’m the first one on the floor with a drink in one hand and I’ll find a girl for the other. It’s sloppy, Mick doesn’t really sing, the lyrics are just about sex, drugs, and crazy times in New York in the 70s when the city almost went bankrupt and crime was out of control, and you get the slagged off non-vocal spoken “harmonies” of “shadooby” by Keith and Ronnie!

It’s perfect rock n roll!

Same thing for me with cars!

As more situations like this occur, insurance companies may start to think twice about covering EVs in flood-prone areas. I’m absolutely not kidding either.

Funny observation of the day…

Now that I have the Equinox EV I’ve joined the forum for that vehicle. One of the threads I found was “Post Pics of your Favorite Car that you’ve owned”

Most common car posted? Camaro.

But you need the second picture for it to make sense. My lawnmower ran out of gas so I had to fill a gas can. Got some strange looks when I pulled up to the pump.
