Please compare each pro with each corresponding con.

It might be okay for these reasons:
• It's the most attractive thing to come out of Toyota since the Supra.
• It's a good car because it potentially competes with the recently released GT-R, a hyped import in a price bracket that compels it to run with other great cars.
• It's new so it has that new car smell.
• Carbon fiber is awesome, and this car has lots of carbon fiber.
• It's exclusive due to low production.
• It goes 0-62 in 3.7 seconds.
• It has 10 cylinders.

It probably sucks for these reasons:
• I never really thought the Supra was the most attractive car. Pointing out that this car is as attractive as a Supra is kind of like arguing about the most attractive, fastest, tumor-infested 3-legged dog. It won't be pretty, it won't be fast, and it certainly won't live very long. I think that this car will fit into this mold because Toyota has lost its way in the field of performance, and history doesn't speak all that highly of Toyota's OEM performance.
• I don't like the GT-R either. I actually think that both this car and the GT-R are examples of excessive hype. They aren't on the level of Ferrari, Lamborghini, Koenigsegg, or the Corvette ZR1. There are better cars for the money.
• This car will have significant flaws. It represents a new model, platform, and engine. All of these features will need serious improvement in order to match the reliability of the competition. That new car smell, by the way, will come with the potent sweat of outsourced labor, which will not support the US economy. In fact, I expect that the laborers that do build this car are underpaid and work in a country with limited government oversight of abusive employment, child labor, and worker rights.
• Does it seem to anyone else obese for a car that is so heavily clad in carbon fiber? Besides, having lots of an awesome component does not mean, by default, that this car is awesome.
• It's exclusive because it costs way more than it is worth, it isn't that attractive, and it is only produced in small numbers—small numbers that reflect the number of people in the world both rich enough and stupid enough to buy an overpriced piece of sculpted Japanese garbage.
• I don't have a problem with it being fast. I just want to know why they measured up to 62 instead of 60. What is wrong with them? If you're going to sell in America, then advertise to Americans.
• Those 10 cylinders only displace 4.8L. I think Toyota managed to build something that with more cylinders than a muscle car will still manage to sound like an angry bee hive.

Exactly my feeling.

NOT a bad looking car though. At least from that angle. I still need to see what's doin' in the ba-donk.

All joking aside, I think it looks awful from that rendering. Worse than the gt-r, and I hate the looks of that car with a passion.

Few things that stick out to me. I have far too little time to dwell on this suck-mobile in detail:

-How in the hell does a two-seater (assumedly) with a 65% Carbon Fiber body still weigh over 3000 lbs?
-That high-revving engine will be about as reliable as a 20-year old rotary, and it lacks HUNDREDS of lbs of torque to be serious, imo.
-What drunk executive decided to price it that high? ("LF-A, I'd like you to meet ZR1...he's half your price, and can kick your a$$ back across the pacific....twice.")

Perhaps it's just not my cup 'o tea....and perhaps I'm being a little harsh -- but please...what a joke.

Motortrend puts the price estimates at 400k...............

this car, while it may be good, will not be worth the money. i dont see anybody with common sense buying this car.
that is unless they want a rare 1 of 500 car.

and coolman dont be a badge whore it works both ways. dont let a badge dictate whether you like a car or not

Blur, thanks for that clear-cut +/-
Dragoneye, you aren't being too harsh. That would have required some sort of comment about floor mats. Like this:

$400,000? Wow, that must make it twice as good. Thats why Ferrari's are the best right?

Seriously though, how many cars over $50,000 can be rationalized via common sense?

You know....I've been thinking about this more than I wanted to...

Lexus (Toyota) may simply be trying to built that unreachable halo car that puts them on the map...And makes everything else underneath it look good...ala Bugatti Veyron. However...IF that was the goal, they failed miserably in the performance dept. This car is not exciting, it promises performance of last year with a design from another dimension, at a price of the moon....

I can think of only 4 off the top of my head: CTS-V, Z06, ZR1, R8. Each because they excell in their respective categories, are incredibly appealing, and are a relative bargain, $$-wise.

i would change that 50,000 to 100,000. IMO any car under 50k can have Either a great luxurious interior, Great super car like performance, or some combination of the two. once you get above 50k you get more of both worlds in some sort of combination.

incase that doesnt make sense i have NO problem buying a 100k dollar car. but once you get above that general area your paying for exclusivity

Its certainly the best looking Toyota in the last 14 years but that ain't saying much. Based on it's speculated times I am guessing a Corvette GS might be damn near capable of running with it... but the Z06 will definitely run with it, and possibly beat it. YET this is still $100K more than a ZR1.

Bottom line is that this should have been a Toyota.. priced out at about $65-80K to compete directly with the Z06 and GT-R. Bottom line is that I would still like to see Cadillac get an ACTUAL CIEN with ZR1 internals to kill Lexus's buzz

Oh I agree. There are some cars that are worth a price tag greater than $50,000 ... but its not a very extensive list. There are only a handful of brands who have cars on that list, mostly based in America and Germany with one or two exceptions.
