Mopar CAI and Magnaflow exhaust are the only performance enhancers thus far.

I gotta say I'm no proponent of street racing. I typically only trounce on it up to the speed limit or a bit over. We were on an open hwy with a speed limit of 70.

I also completely annihilated a Mustang with Roush badges and body panels on the way to the show. Hopefully it was just the stage one or whatever that is just the body kit. We were in the interstate and he saw me come up on him so he hit his brakes to slow down so we could get side by side at about 60MPH. I was in 5th gear not expecting much and when I looked over he just romped on it. I mashed the throttle thinking I'd get embarrassed but I started to pull past....once I he was at my rear bumper I had time to down shift to 4th and it was bye bye.

It might have been a stage 2 at the most. But I'm sure you'll win a lot of car shows with that car, especially more muscle oriented ones.

Well, I had to go test drive a Mustang GT today to see what the deal was. Here's my review of the 2010 GT Premium manual I drove:

I liked the interior design. Nicely laid out and modern with a retro touch. The seats were nice as well with soft leather, and nice leather accents on the e-brake and steering wheel. Controls were easy to reach and made sense.

Handling was crisp and sharp.

It has a wonderful exhaust note when you mash the throttle.

That's about all the good I can say about the car. It's a shame that there is no torque associated with that exhaust. The car felt very under powered compared to my Challenger R/T. The 5 speed stick felt like a wooden spoon in a plastic box. Very sloppy and notchy. The salesman let me wring it out a little bit on the hwy and we hit about 105 and while the car felt stable at that speed, there was just no power really. I kept waiting for it, waiting, only to have to shift to the next gear.

When the salesman asked me what I thought of the car, I told him it just didn't have enough power and that I was apparently spoiled by my Challenger. He said you could modify the heck outta the 4.6L and it was practically bullet proof, which is a good thing because it needs it. I guess Ford offers a supercharger package as an upgrade that will take the GT to 550HP as he gave me an "accessories" book that had that in it. However he couldn't tell me if it was Ford installed and warrantied.

I'm going to drive a Camaro SS next.

I'm surprised he didn't offer it to ya under MSRP, especially since the 2011 are going to outclass the 2010's so badly.

Have fun with the SS. I'm going to test drive a GT sometime next week, if time permits.

Oh we didn't even talk price. I told him I wanted to see how it drove first and was so disappointed in the performance that he didn't even bother trying to make me a deal. Instead he started pointing me to all the Ford hop up parts available like blowers and what not, but couldn't answer my questions about any of that stuff, like could I install it myself and keep the warranty etc.

Good review. I test drove one for fun a few months ago and came away thinking the same thing. I didn't much like the center council buttons... and for whatever reason the Kilometer numbers on the Speedo really bothered me. Cartoon lettering I guess.

Definitely underpowered.

I appreciate the compliment. Funny, I started this thread August 13th, had no idea it would last this long! Wife just bought a fully loaded 2010 Mustang GT auto last night. (paid about $28,000 with all the rebates/incentives). Sticker was $39,000 with all the dealer add-ons. Have to disagree with the comments above, I can tell this car will kick ass when it is broken in - I suspect it will take my R/T, much to my dismay. I was surprisingly impressed. Plus it makes her happy so I'm happy. For those who want to beat a dead horse, flame away, I really don't give a crap regarding people talking smack about things they really don't know about anyway. Here's a pick from the dealer!

I was thisclose () to getting a dodge challenger...walked into the dealership with the intention of buying one. They had the orange srt8 that I wanted.

I sat inside, looked at its interior. Then I shook my head at the dealer without saying a word; he understood.

I walked right out the door.

I wanted to love that car so much, I melt when I see that car in the street..Im just so dissapointed on the interior. When I was sitting inside the car and the dealer asked me if I liked it, I squeezed the door where the lowered window was and it bent a good half inch.

Horrible interior man, felt like I was in a rental car and some of those had better interiors.

What a shame. Beautiful car.

I dont know why I hated the interior that much..I know we all got different tastes here and someone might think the challenger's interior is the best thing since sliced bread..but cmon, Dodge could have done a better job here; god damn.

Nice looking Mustang. Get some staggered wheels and one of those Ford Accessory power up kits and you'll be rockin'.

Man it's crazy how different people look at things. The Challenger interior is one of the things I REALLY like. It's simple, classic, with a touch of modern convenience. I have a feeling it will stand the test of time very well and won't look outdated 2 years from now.

The Mustang interior is a tad better even, with it's old school font on the gauges and 255 (or whatever it is) color options for dash lighting.

The Camaro interior was the one I really did not like. I was going to buy a Camaro anyway, because it's such a great performing car for the money, but the gauges look cheap to me and will be very dated in a year or two. The Nintendo looking console controls really turned me off as well. You can go back and look at my posts from over a year ago when I was dead set on buying a Camaro and see that I said the exact same thing.

I ended up with a Challenger because the local dealers acted like they were going to be somehow limited quantity and wouldn't negotiate at all on the price. Dodge announced employee pricing, $1,000 cash back, and 0% financing for 4 years on the Challenger and I bought one.

I still may swing back around and buy a Camaro too. I'm just hoping they upgrade the interior for 2011, or better yet upgrade the interior and offer a Z28.

When I look at the Camaro cluster, all I see is:

Isn't the Challenger interior exactly the same as the Charger interior?
