Why is our defense so suspect in new england we've allowed the least PPG since week 5 after we lost our anchor in hightower no less. I feel like the same people who say our defense is suspect are the same ones who were praying for tom brady to drop off at age 40 lol. Instead barring Wentz amd Watson who i will say would be 1, 2, 3 in no particular order with brady this year he's the best overall QB regular season overall.

The NE defense looks suspect because for the regular season they were 29th in total yards allowed, 30th in passing yards allowed, and 20th in rushing yards allowed.

These stats have nothing to do with Tom Brady, he doesn't play defense. Your conjecture of my desire for Brady's demise is unfounded.

As far as regular season rankings, Brady did throw for the most yards (4577), followed by Phillip Rivers (4515), and Matthew Stafford (4446). Stafford's is the most impressive, as he did it without a running game, the Lions were dead last in the NFL in rushing yards (76.3 per game)

Going by the QB rating system, Alex Smith was first with a 104.7, Drew Brees second with a 103.9, and then Brady with a 102.8.

OK Bobby Boucher.....

5th....18.5 points allowed per game.........if you add the two touchdowns that were taken away by officials, one vs Jets, and one vs Steelers (not making accusations against NE, only stating the officials bad calls), they are actually ranked 8th @ 19.4.

NE isn't winning games because of their defense.

Looks like his druthers would be the Giants, nothing like stiff competition to drive up the price. Really, history shows you don't want to go to the Lions, no former Lions head coach of the last 50 years has ever held another head coaching job in the NFL. Although Jim Schwartz may get another shot soon. He did take over an 0-16 team to the playoffs in three years.

Ok John Nash , if you wanna go that route, then do the math deducting the pic 6 and fumble recovery for 6.......from the 18.5 and what do you have ? And for the record, not bad calls....right calls , bad rule.

Also, if you don't think defenses holding teams to 3 instead of 7 isn't helping win games.........

The fumble and pic six don't count in the points allowed by defense average Bobby Boucher. Points allowed and points scored are two separate equations.

The rulings were incorrect, if a player possess the ball and is down in bounds in the end zone, without the ball touching the ground BEFORE the completion is made, it's a completed pass in the end zone. It was in both cases.

Minnesota's defense is ranked #1 @ 15.8 points allowed.......their offense is ranked 10th @ 23.9 pts per game. Their defense is winning games.
Minnesota has 3 Pro Bowl players on defense. They actually should of had 4....how Harrison Smith didn't make it is a mystery.....snub of the year....you could also make a case for Linval Joseph....he is the reason opposing teams don't run up the middle against the Vikings.

New England's defense is ranked #5 in points allowed...18.5 (it's really 19.4).......and their offense is ranked 2nd with 28.6 pts per game. Their offense is winning games. New England has 3 Pro Bowl players on offense.

Bobby Boucher I know this is difficult for you, but if your best players on the team are on offense, the offense is winning the game.

When you have a really, really good defense Bobby, like the Vikings have, this is one of their "average" players.

Anyone know is Jesus accepted the contract offer Howie Roseman offered him to play QB for the Eagles in the playoffs?? That's the only chance we have of winning tomorrow. Foles is garbage. Either the defense has to play lights out and score points along with the special teams or we are one and done.

Expect the Eagles front 7 on defense to play lights out. They generally do. They are the best team in the NFL against running the ball.

Against Julio Jones receiving , well that's a different story. ATL needs to throw the ball on offense, not run it.

But......
Dan Quinn likes to establish the run first. This is a mistake against the Eagles front 7.
Julio Jones had 135 yards receiving for ATL in their last meeting, and I believe he could have had 200 plus.....had ATL thrown the ball more. But Quinn/Shanahan kept trying to run.....and Falcons lost.

In order for the Eagles to win they need a great game from their defense, and good play on special teams.

If ATL stays with the run too long...they are giving them 1/2 of what they need to win.

ATL is 11-0 this year when scoring 20 points or more. Their best chance of achieving that is passing the ball against the Eagles defense, not running it.

If ATL runs too much... the Eagles will have a much better chance of winning the game.
