BMW 335i/M3 owners?

Anyone own a current 335i or 335xi? How is the power in that car? How about the new M3?

I have driven both but don't own an 335i/M3. I drive a E60 M5. You CANNOT go wrong with an M3 or any M car, period. The 335i offers nice power also, smooth power delivery with a kick from the turbos.

the 335i or 135i are both very easy to mod just incase 300hp/300tq isnt good enough for you.

I still have an e36 M3 and also owned a e46 M3. I ride and drive friends' 335 and e90/92 M3 often and there is no comparison between the two in performance. The M3 is awesome, very fast and handles great! The 335 is quite nice as well. 300hp with the turbos and I would be very happy to own one for a short time but you feel the glaring difference between the two when you drive each one.

The M3 is so high priced though, its hard to put your mind around 65k for a car. They do have all these funky finance plans you can choose, but the fine print is drama im sure. BMW Select, Owners choice, Lease, finance...etc...all these balloon payment things. The easiest to do is just finance, but the payments are HIGH...72 months is even high without a huge down payment.

Lex isnt your M5 high cost on maintenance out of warranty?

Yes. Maintenance cost will be high but it is a V10 with a 7 speed . The warranty has just expired and "GOOD" BMW dealerships will do good faith repairs on their premier vehicles past the warranty.

Yep, true about the price of a new M3, but if you are one of the people with deep pockets, $65k gets you an awesome machine in the M3. I prefer the 4 door over the coupe. If I were to get one, I would be a pre-owned certified and save several thousands over new.
M5...I have a friend who is a BMW tech and I cringe whenever he tells me stories about the cost of repail bills. According to him, it is foolish for any "regular Joe" like me to own or buy a 335, e46 to new M3, all M5, or 740 out of the warranty period. He also warns that very often, they tend not to inform owners of many "can be replaced now under warranty" items and wait til after warranty expires to tell the owners about problems that could have been fixed during the warranty period.
