Chinese components

I already know from reading that my tail lights, wheels, and (I think) radio came from China. How much more of the Camaro comes from China?
Out of curiousity, anybody know any of the same info about the Mustang?

Yes, I am the "weirdo" who paws through the hardware store looking at the "Made in..." labels.

I know this may be a touchy subject; apologies in advance.

60% of the 2010 Camaro is made in the US and Canada with 24% from Mexico.

60% of the 2010 Mustang is made in the US and Canada.

The make up of the remaining 16% and 40% will be a little harder to nail down.

One of GM's biggest markets is in China, and Buick is the big dog.Seems reasonable that they would make some universal items over there and save a few bucks.

Almost every Harley Davidson accessory is made in China.

The only time I needed to use my warranty on my '06 Impala was for the drivers sunvisor which would no longer stay up- Inside it said: MADE IN CHINA.
I blame it on Americas unions- You can't pay people $40.00+ an hour to put wheels on new cars, you just can't.

Its really hard to say. But I'm sure when you really look at it there will be lots made in China. Sure they may be made outside of china but the parts to make those parts are from Asia at some level and so on. Also govt regulations or lack thereof may result in some brands saying its made in USA or elsewhere when many of its components originate from china but because it doesn't fall into the definition of "made in USA" or there is no regulations whatsoever manufacturers would opt to say "made in USA" for marketing purposes wher they can get by.

This is quite common in other industries including vitamins, electronics, hardware etc. its just too expensive to not go with Chinese/Asian manufacturers OR somehow the parts and or components of those parts can be traced to Asia.

Which 6-speed? They have three different ones for the mustang depending on motor and model.
