No State tax, States.

Here in Ga, we have someone running for Governor and he is wanting to do away with the State income tax. Just want to get some insight from people of its Pros and Cons.... Please reply....

They will just figure out another way to get the money. Texas, no state income tax, property taxes are very high.

I don't think we pay a lot in State Taxes as it is.... but I also live in a 7% local sales tax county. I think it may just be a nice platform to run for him to work on.

if he is doing away with this tax, the money has to come from somewhere.

You will pay it one way or another. No getting around it. Or the state goes broke faster. Pretty simple.

"The FairTax taxes us only on what we choose to spend on new goods or services, not on what we earn."

(But, politicians doing something that actually makes sense, ugh... boy do we got a lot of work ahead of us.)

i suggest you guys try to keep it positive, cause political threads are not allowed...

i'm in favor of a flat or fair tax, but people in this country need to change what their idea of what government is... if we want to continue to pay people to sit at home and make babies, bail out industries, continue to fund our growing world empire, print money at will, free healthcare, and the many other non constitutional projects and spending, a fair tax will not work...

Though they all get around that by only siding 3 sides of a house

Saw that down by Zapata, if you never finish the outside, its not done so no tax.
