Camaro in Cup Series ?
BROOKLYN, Mich. -- It's not inconceivable that by 2013 NASCAR's top division may feature the same sorts of performance cars that currently are being integrated into the Nationwide Series.
"I'll never say never," said Pat Suhy, GM Racing's NASCAR group manager, when asked whether Chevrolet would consider racing the Camaro. "I think a lot of it depends on what we're talking about in terms of the canvas we're given to work with. "The canvas we had for the car today was basically from the cowl forward and from the out[side] forward corner of the headlights kind of into the windshield. The fenders, the lower [valance], the sides, the tail, the deck lid -- all that stuff is pretty common [to all Cup models]." Though that's hardly a green light for the Camaro, it's enough to give muscle-car fans hope.

That looks like a Monte Carlo with a Camaro front end.
NO. Too bad it's not like the old days and they could use cars that look like real cars. They all seem to be modled on the last generation Monte Carlo. |

they should be able to figure out a way to practically equalize near stock dimension body work. Scale the bodies so they are all the same size, determine the amount of drag and lift on the bodies, then tweak each so they are all recognizable as the production equivalent, yet they're aerodynamically equal. The biggest problem would probably be Toyota. Ford Mustang, Dodge Challenger, Chevrolet Camaro, and Toyota ___ ?

I have recently learned quite a bit about the Grand Am Series....it has 2 tiers: the Rolex Series and the Continental Tire Series...
![]() As Jeff Bucknum, one of the drivers of the #6 Sunoco Camaros explained to me....if you follow NASCAR, the Rolex Series is the equivalent of the Sprint Cup Series, and the Continental Tire Series is the equivalent of the Nationwide Series.... ![]() Sooooo, the #6 & #9 Sunoco Camaros race in the Continental Series of Grand Am, and the #57 & #97 Camaros race in the Rolex Series of Grand Am... ![]() All 4 teams are owned by Stevenson Motorsports.... That is your Grand Am racing lesson for today...lol...

He's talking about the Camaro Pace Cars...they've been using the Camaro as a pace car on and off since the Daytona 500 in 2009...
