Toyota Enthusiasts ace up the sleeve?

http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com...dels-Recalled/

Quote:
It's been a month of recalls for Chrysler.

Kicking Tires reports, "Chrysler is recalling nearly 35,000 2007 Dodge Calibers and 2007 Jeep Compasses for problems with sticky gas pedals, the Associated Press reports. The cars affected were built from March to May 2006; the recall includes cars sold outside the U.S. as well."

The Los Angeles Times adds, "The pedal system is built by CTS Corp. of Elkhart, Ind., which also built the accelerator pedal assemblies that were recalled in 2.3 million Toyota vehicles in late January."

That's not the only recall Chrysler is facing, however. Left Lane News reports "the automaker has now issued a new recall that covers 284,831 [Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan] minivans which may have an improperly installed wiring harness." Left Lane News explains, "As a result of the wiring harness being improperly routed during installation, it may be rubbing against the lower sliding door hinge bracket, which over time can wear through the wire’s rubber insulation and cause a short circuit. NHTSA says that in the event of a short circuit, it is possible that the latch could become overheated and start a vehicle fire."

Finally, Jeep, which is owned by Chrysler, has also issued a recalls. Autoblog writes, "The Pentastar is calling home 288,968 2006-2010 Jeep Wrangler models due to front fender liners that could make contact with the right front and left rear brake tubes."

If you have questions about any of these recalls, you can contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403. Your Chrysler or Jeep dealer should perform fixes for these problems at no charge.
I'm sure the Toyota apologists will use articles like these to defend Toyota's reputation for reliability and safety. Regardless, I wonder if this will/has been covered by the news?

yeah this would be a big deal if anyone actually bought those cars and they weren't sitting in fleets and dealer lots.

It doesn't really matter how the Toyota loyalists wish to use this article because their "flawless" record is tarnished. I have several coworkers who used to brag about how reliable their Toyotas are for as long as they had an ear to talk into. Now, they have nothing to say. Lol!

You should have to work in Manufacturing where all you hear about is how great the TPS (Toyota Production System) is(was)... "X"(your company name here)PS it turns out isn't the be all, do all, end all.

Using Chrysler as some sort of quality/reliability standard is setting the bar pretty low
