Audi R4 direction...

http://blogs.insideline.com/straightline/2010/06/imagining-the-audi-r4-production-car-son-of-e-tron.htmlhttp://blogs.insideline.com/straightline/2010/06/imagining-the-audi-r4-production-car-son-of-e-tron.html

This car is just plain bad ass...it would be even sweeter if they offered the inline-5 turbo in it...but it probably won't happen...oh well.

I think they want to sit this car in at the 50k range...so I don't know if that would be possible...

The only bad thing about Audi, is I'm realising that more and more of their cars are starting to look like the R8...I mean, I know they are sorta the same model but can they atleast mix it up a bit?

isn't the RS5 supposed to be a M3 fighter? so 50-60k price range?
audi has a wide price range they can put the R4 in, in between the Cayman and the lotus Evora.

The rs5 is around 80k...not saying it somehow couldn't happen but...its a mid-engine car that wants to be like the r8 except affordable...

i didn't think that U.S pricing was released already. is that 80k a direct conversion from euro prices?

thinking about it, it would be kind of redundant to have a V8 in both the R8 and the R4. audi would also have to keep the car under 400 hp so the RS5 V8 definitely wouldnt work

I know the inline five probably won't happen because everything is getting cylinder neutered...but that engine would give it a unique sound, a unique character, basically everything the r8 was except in a mini me package but I don't see that happening. However, then again, it also could happen because they want it to be a little more upscale than the TT (the top of the line TT in europe has the I5-T).

i just don't think that engine produces enough power. 272 hp puts it much below the 320 hp cayman. why would you enter a market with an already inferior product. the 350 hp V8 from the S5 would do this car wonders

I like the idea of the v8, but the inline 5 is only a tune away from power levels like that (or at least I'd assume so). Can't wait though. If they put the 2.0T in it I'd be very disappointed in their lack of...effort.
