Dealership idiot!

Ok, sent the local FOrd dealer an Email with a few questions, 1 question was, what is the x plan price on a 2011 Mustang GT with 3.73 gears, security package, and the brembo brake package?

Their answer:

Quote:
2. As for the 2011 Mustang GTs, they should be coming in during the next couple of months. From what I've found out the Brembo brake system is not an orderable option on the 2011's. You could obtain this system from someone like www.myhotmustang.com for your new mustang and of course we could provide the installation. The Securilock-Passive Anti-Theft System is an engine immobilization system on the Mustang. This system is designed to help prevent the engine from being started unless a coded Integrated Keyhead Transmitter programmed to your vehicle is used.

WTF?????

Also, does anyone know what a good price for an 05 Mustang GT premium with 34000 miles would be?

Just so you know there actually isn't a "Brembo Brake Package" that is orderable per say. You actually have to order the "19 Inch Dark Stainless Painted Aluminum Wheels" and this adds the $1685 Brembo Brake Package to the car. Strange yes and whats worse is they have other 19 inch wheel offerings but you can't get the Brembos with them.

That said the dealer is probably just car stupid, and also probably tried to put "Brembo Brake Package" in the computer and got "you cannot order this" back.

That dealer is full of BS (and sounds like he's trying to rip you off, to boot, or at best they're horribly uninformed with regards to their own product), unless Ford's own website for the Mustang (under the Build/Price section) which CLEARLY has the Brembo brake package available as a $1695 option, in bold black letters, is wrong, as is my vehicle order confirmation sheet, which also clearly lists it (as 55D BREMBO BRAKE PK), which I find rather unlikely.

As for your question regarding X-plan; I'm not sure I can give you an exact figure, but as an example, on the order sheet for my GT Premium (MSRP for mine is $36705), the dealer invoice was $34266.60 (including $45.60 fuel charge and $486 Ford Dealer Advertising Fund fee [which from what I've heard is basically non-negotiable]). My price would've been $34404.53 under X-plan. Also, under X-plan, the only fee the dealer should charge you is a $75 MAXIMUM documentation fee. So, under X-plan, my particular GT would've been about $140 over invoice if I went that route. I suspect yours (which is spec'd similar to mine, but w/o HIDs and with 3.73s instead of 3.55s) if so ordered would likely be priced similarly above invoice.

However, just my two cents worth, if you do have an X-plan PIN available for use, use it as a last resort if you can't find a dealer who'll give you a good price; after basically getting several dealers in a bidding war for my order, I managed to have a dealer order me my GT for $300 UNDER invoice, and w/o dealer fees. But, X-plan is great if you want to can't find any dealers that want to give you a fair price, and/or if you don't want to deal with haggling/arguing with dealerships, or worry about any BS fees they might tack on.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the answer, I think they are trying to get me into a 2010 by playing stupid on what is available on the 11, kinda ticks me off.

No problem. I absolutely despise dealerships that try pulling shit like that, whatever brand they are. My local Ford dealer tried to pull the same crap on me. The day before I visited the dealer that offered me the best price (which was some 50 miles away), I decided, for only god knows why, to give my local dealer (which was only 3 miles away from home), one more chance at earning my business (the day before my X-plan contact decided to go MIA; told the dealer that and they decided to go no lower than MSRP...). I walked in late in the day, showroom had no customers, only 4-5 salesmen. I struck a conversation with one of them, and after a few minutes of BSing back in forth, eventually talked about ordering a GT. Right off the bat they told me they would order me one at MSRP, and no lower. Told the guy that I found a dealer willing to order me at $300 invoice (and I said it loud enough that everyone in the room heard me).

The salesmen seemed pretty amused; they were all laughing their collective asses off. Then, one of the older salesmen demanded which dealership made the offer to me, to which I replied "why do you care? can you beat the price or not?". At which point the salesman basically calls the dealership, and me, liars and then pretty much get as close as they can to telling me I'm full of shit (without actually telling me I'm full of shit). They then have the audacity to tell me there's no way I'm getting an '11 for anything less than sticker, and then told me to basically settle for a '10. Someway, somehow I manage to keep my rage in check, let them give me their cards, and thanked them for their time. The cards eventually made for some excellent target practice at the local range however, so the trip wasn't a total loss, I guess...

You should roll back through there with your 11 once you get it.
