Road Course vs serious competitors

Based on and around the same price point of our camaro this looks to be our competition...

keep in mind this is stock vs stock vs stock...

this is for a track based road course and im interested to see your opinion on which will come first and why?

Well, it depends on the track, sometimes. Idk too much about the Camaro's suspension and if it can hold a candle to the Evo's the STi's, but 52/48 weight distribution is pretty good. The SS would own on the straights, no doubt, but if there are a lot of corners, the weight might be noticeable.

ya agreed. if its a track with alot of straights it would turn out a different winner than a bender

an EVO or STI are the only two out of that group who can take a hands down win on their turf of choice. on a tight track a RX-8 or 370z will make it a drivers race with the camaro. i dont have much experience with the lower end porsche but i think its safe to say it wont have the grunt to hang with an SS though should be able to handle a v6 camaro just fine. but any track that will let you get out of 2nd gear will be an easy hands down win to the camaro. thats stock for stock... now if you want to talk mods keep a close eye on the 370z, camaro, and maybe even the s2000.

Although some of those others will be better at the corners the SS should hold its own and it would pull away at straits so even tough corners wont be that bad if it is already far ahead and can pull away after the turn so Camaro hands down.(Just my .02)

The only 4 competitive cars on that list are:

Camaro SS

370z

Evo

335i

The more straights, the more the Camaro has an advantage

The 335i and the 370z are both a good combination of speed and handling

the Evo would only win if the track is all corners

So i think the BMW or the 370z would win. Because an average track would be a combination of corners and straights. The evo would fall behind in straights and the camaro would probably have a tough time hanging on through the corners.

The 350Z is already quite quick and handles very well. Adding power and taking significant weight off will make it even better.

I got F Flamed for suggesting the 370Z is Camaro competition.

the spec sheet for the camaro even claims the 350z is competition. this is just the refresh, so its deffinetly still competition.

This depends heavily on the track. I would love to see the times or some one-on-one races between some of these cars.

this would make a very interesting top gear episode lol.
i think the top 5 from that list that would compete with the camaro on the auto x would be the:

evo x- quick little car. and when i mean quick i mean stupid fast. this thing def puts u back in ur seat and holds the corners like glue. i have personaly have been in it with someone pushing it and by god its superve

sti- like the evo x its fast little and AWD. both the evo x and sti are about even from what iv seen its a drivers race between these.

370z- if its anything like the 350z its got balls to keep up. adding hp and lighting this thing up is amazing.

rx8- this is the lowest hp car of the 5, but it has a even 50/50 distabution that none of the other cars have. the newer r3 mazda rx8 is a tad bit lighter than the older one but non the less, i feel its more than a competion than the camaro. wait till mazda introduces the newer renisis rotary than we will talk again.

335i- cant say much other than its fast lol havent been in one so i cant tell u.

i dont think many can say what the camaro is capable of cause its not even out yet. were all basing this off speculation
