New Stingray

Has anything ever been said about the Stingray that was in Transformers 2-is it a possibility or just a wild (and gorgeous) prototype??

If I'm not mistaken, it was originally meant to be a study of the design language, basically just a concept of what a new stingray would look like. But then it appeared in transformers. GM has also said that they may borrow certain elements of the concept to put on a next gen corvette.

Also, right now GM has stated that they want the next gen to be able to steal customers away from the germans, especially younger customers. In all reality, they do have the best corvette concept needed for such a next gen corvette. So, hopefully they'll just say f*** it and go with the concept.

It was essentially a wild concept. The next gen Corvette will likely be inspired by it but it is not a preview of the C7.

Oh, and moved to general automotive/other cars

Well...

Alot of people would argue the Camaro was just a concept, and it barely changed at all in production. But then again, the Camaro was alot more loved than this Vette concept. There are alot of Vette enthusiasts that absolutely hate this thing. I love it personally but I won't be broken up if they don't build it. I can't afford one anyway.

But that car debuted in 2008, and GM has came out and said it won't be built. Unlike the Camaro which was given the green light 7 months after the concept was show.

I dont like it..maybe its because an ex-girlfriend of mine was obsessed with Corvettes and thought it was the sexiest thing she'd ever seen..instead of me!! The nerve!!

I kid, only about the "The nerve!!" part.

I honestly like the style of the current Corvette more, the Stingray is gaudy, over the top and above all..looks heavy as hell! I know it wouldnt be.

You'll get no arguments from me...lol. That was kinda my point. The Camaro was greenlighted so quick because you had to look high and low to find a single negative thing said about it.

Even the beancounters couldn't F*** up the obvious hit they had on their hands...

To be completely honest, there has never been a car north of 100k I've looked at that my first reaction wasn't "thats kinda gaudy." It takes a while for all of them to grow on me. Even with this concept, there are things on the exterior I do not want. The interior for me though is complete win.

About 3-4 years ago I saw the Camaro concept and fell in Love with it. I set it as a goal to get it. Last June I realised that dream.

As soon as I saw the Stingray, I fell in Love with it. I want this to be my next car!

GM has confirmed that the Stingray concept is nothing more than a concept...

I don't like the current corvette, but if the next model looks similar to the concept I will definitely think about buying one. Saw it at the seattle autoshow, just gorgeous.

Hopefully, it's nothing more than a concept on which the next gen will be based
