I'm back.

I'm sure you didn't miss me too much while I was away, but I did receive a PM or two congratulating me on yesterday. I've been gone for my wedding.

Yesterday, I married the best woman in the world. The rest of you will have to fight for second. Beside me stood the best collection of friends a man could ask to have.

I hadn't seen my best man since he moved to New Jersey during our college years in May 2007 almost three years ago. :( We lived in townhouse F5—perfect that I'm now on a site that could functionally be the 5th f-body enthusiast community—of a complex off-campus of the University of Kansas where we partied like there was no tomorrow for three straight years. After three years of recovery, we spent three days of doing very much the same thing. The bachelor party involved a lot of karaoke, and the wedding ended with the song that pretty much defined our experience together, "Alcohol" by Brad Paisley. He said in his speech that we were like brothers, and that he felt like he was welcoming a new sister into his family in my bride. He truly is the best man.

Close competition came from the other men in my entourage. One of them had been in my life since high school and has been important all the while. Another helped me in an impossible situation after my best man moved to New Jersey with his family. Another was a recent close friend I made at a job that was below us in a college town at a time when neither of us were in school.

My wedding included Chicago's best DJ, Todd Arcari from Dancetrax. If you have any need for a DJ, please contact this company.

After spending time organizing the DJ and ceremony, I got some presents for my bride. We plan to take a honeymoon in a few months after we get more settled in Chicago. We have decided that a cruise would be the best choice, so I picked up some presents for her that we could use on the cruise. Before the wedding, I had my groomsmen deliver a short note I had written to her, a purple towel, lavender flip flops, a snorkel, and a bouquet of lavender roses. This was intended to go with the wedding color.

When I saw the bride, it was the best moment of my life. She had never looked as beautiful as she did in that dress.

I noticed before the wedding a great present she had gotten me that I want to share with you. She got me a cake. As you can see, this is no ordinary cake. I'll post more professional pictures from the ceremony when they arrive in a month or so, but I have pictures from the fridge (garage?) that I'm sure you'll all enjoy.

She kept a good secret. She said it was the hardest thing she's ever done because she doesn't do well with secrets.

I can't believe that someone knifed it in my first day of having the Camaro cake.
