I want to see what effects that popular media has had on people to believing which car is faster in the 1/4 mile. I used a site that most people have little to know knowledge about cars... Check it out.

(My bet is on the Skyline GTR winning )

The GT-R is the fastest car on that list.

The Skyline R34. Not the newest one, and I believe those cars were under 40K. Finally! Wikipedia lists the price as $31,000, but does not designate the generation. I'm going to approximate the R34 at mid 30ks.

I don't even think you can have those in America..... Legally.


BTW I think the GTR will get a disproportionate number of votes based on the name... GTR.

Yep. That's my hypothesis right there. Your last statement wouldn't matter, as long as it has the GT-R name I'll almost guarantee people will believe it is the fastest.

This poll sucks. It needs to designate wether or not the cars are stock or modified. If they are stock, the 200 hp R34 is among the showest on the list.

Which supra? NA? turbo? twin turbo?

What, no RX-7? Torretto would be pissed!

Everyone knows that they are all 10 second cars, just watch Fast and the Furious!

... If you read the first post it was stock, all latest year, U.S. models besides the skyline and all those cars had to have a significant cultural impact (being well known, etc.).

I think that was the point though. This was posted on a non-car enthusiast site to get the opinion of the 'general public' on something they only know basic info about.

Stock? It didn't break twelves. It's more like a mid low to mid 13 second car.

This is an interesting poll. The lack of information means that voters are voting on perceptions rather than facts. That's an impressive premise for a composition class.

Naw I'm usually good at writing papers. For some reason I have like 300 views on that thread and only ~50 votes... I probably could of picked a better place that would have more interest in vehicles. But I mean a gaming community is probably the least informed about a car as one can get lol.
