Ford Announces Countdown for 2010 Mustang

In an attempt to take back media coverage... Ford has made a website devoted to the new 2010 mustang.

As much as i love the Camaro, i am looking forward to seeing what ford brings to the table in the face of a 422hp SS.

My bet is they reduce the weight of the mustang to 3,400, up the hp to 380, and give it a dual clutch tranny.

but from the pictures we've already seen of the new stang', it kinda looks like an 05' stang w/ downs syndrom

I want to see too. My guess it will just have a new face with same engine... if so, ford would let me down, big time!

they are going to use a turbo 6 ecoboost engine it will produce 400 horsepower

i will stay with the camaro

ECOTEC is GM. I can't imagine Ford using the Cobalt motor in the Mustang.

Ha! What a joke. Everything I have heard about this car says the only thing changing will be a minor facelift, with hardly any drivetrain improvements. They will not reduce the weight (it will increase), they might ad 20 hp, and they will definitely not get a dual clutch transmission.

I actually took the time to look at the site for the new Mustang. It's a complete waste of time, it says nothing about the new car, just shows a big countown.

Well,unlike GM,which showed all its cards about,oh,4 years ago,Ford wants people to actually get excited about what this car will actually look like.
As much as i love the new Camaro,i think GM really screwed the pooch on its timing,not because of 4 dollar gas,but because everyone and their mother has known what this car will look like forever. Everyone knew what it would weigh,what the interior looked like,knew it would get a Corvette powerplant,the V6 was a surprise though. There's no drama,no excitement,press-wise.....good luck getting any press come car show season,it would take a Z28 to steal the new Mustangs thunder in LA and Detroit. On top of that,GM is apparently ashamed of their SS,since all they care about or to show is the RS.
It's exciting getting a new Camaro(finally),but i believe Ford is going to get all the press in the fall and spring. Hopefully GM is holding out a Z28 to show off in LA.
