Odometer reading different then computer ?

Hello I recently bought a 2013 1ss with the 1le package . The car is in mint condition inside and out. Anyway the odometer reads 20,400 but when I got an inspection and emissions done it says 32,200 miles driven since codes cleared. Looking for any insight as to why this would be .thanks

I honestly don’t know but could that really be 3,220.0?

First off, welcome to the forums!

My only thoughts would be as Aqua Blue RS/SS said, or possibly you had a new dash installed?

I don’t know about the Camaros as much as the late model trucks but on the trucks when the cluster is swapped all the dic info is stored in the bcm and it should update in the new cluster automatically. The odometer has to be flashed for the mileage to be correct, none the less the bcm will have the correct mileage if the cluster has been swapped. The cluster is plug and play on most of the trucks assuming bothe clusters are the same trim level. Like I said I’d assume the camaro is the same but I don’t know for sure.

I swapped out my cluster last year. Has to be programmed to the specific vin. Mileage gets updated automatically and is not apart of the programming itself. So it shouldn't be reading differently at all

Hello again all, thanks for all the input. And quick response .I like the bcm reading in km answer, call me stupid but I don't know what bcm is , I assume it's like the computer. My only thing is it says on the paperwork miles since cleared not km since cleared . Or is it possible that the program for inspections and emissions says miles but my computer is giving it km ? Besides that is there like serial numbers on cluster , bcm , engine that should all match if they're original ? Also I've seen online that u can send your computer out for a tune if you have mods done , is it possible you get back a diff computer when u do that ? Again sounds kinda ridiculous but grasping at straws here. The previous owner/s installed exhaust and intake as far as I can tell.

BCM is short for Body Control Module. Yes, it is a computer... Maybe you're on to something...

Don't mean to hijack your thread, but I have a similar question. What Happens if you replace the BCM and someone rolls back the odometer... can someone do that without anyone finding out??

I see you're from Massachusetts. It might be possible your car was originally sold in Canada. I'm assuming the BCM will be recording Kilometers for an original Canada car. I don't know for sure though.
