What If
What If GM, Ford, and Chrysler merge to one big automaker, using technology's from each automaker to produce the hottest cars America has yet to see
Having 1 luxury branch 1 Proformence branch (Mainly V8's) 1 Semi proformence branch ( Turbo 4's and turbocharge V6's) 1 SUV and Crossover branch a branch Large and mid sized sedans and 1 Family of gas sippers and Hybrids what do you guys think, just bored and brain storming Views and comments:

It's not like a Reese's peanut butter cup. "You got GM in my Ford!" "You got Ford in my GM!" "You got Dodge in my Chevy!"....no way.
Do NOT pollute my GM with Mopar or Ford. Distaste aside, it would reduce competition too much, and we wouldn't get products like the Camaro. Competition FTW!

It would be tough to imagine a Mustang, Camaro and Challenger to all be produced by the same company. I mean the techology and engines and so forth would all be similar so where would the fun be in blowing the Mustang and Challenger away in my new Camaro. I mean this could really take the fun out of driving. Then I guess we could focus on finally putting those ugly imports in their place.

GM's problem is that they have too many brands, and too little money to support them. If this hypothetical Super Manufacturer was created, you wouldn't have Ford and Chevy competing anymore. They'd pick and choose the best cars and put them into one lineup. So, as an example; one of each pair would probably be dropped: Mustang/Camaro Tarus/Malibu Focus/Cobalt Escape/Equinox F-150/Silverado etc./etc. Personally, I'd like to not see any merging. What they need to do is strengthen themselves. If you think GM is cumbersome right now....imagine how bad this Super Manufacturer would be......... |

^As much as it pains me to say it, I agree. Ford is needed for competition and also I quite like the Mustang, if there was no Camaro I'd get one. Also...this is kinda hard to say but...I don't...quite...hate the looks of the new Mondeo.
I wouldn't want a great big supdercompany. Wouldn't be fun. It would be intresting to see what happens if Chrysler gets bought by one of the others, which might happen. Would be intresting to have some of Chryslers styling with the reliability of a GM. |

I think that Chrysler should definetly get a Challenger, and kit it up to look like a Barracuda! If they can do this...
![]() ![]() then they can do a 'Cuda!

That thing would have killed the Viper in any race.
I think the idea is decent, but rather, maybe, collaborations on a new brand than a full merge. They could team up and make the ultimate American Brand. (By the way, you murdered the word performance) |
