Looking to build an electric minibike
I know nothing about electric motors or the controllers, anyone have specs that might work well for a minibike with a 410x350x6 tire and a 67 or 72 tooth sprocket to make it go about 45-50 and below.

I know very little myself... however, many years ago, I had a friend who built a number of electric bar stools. Those things were really fast... but took some gittin' used to. As long as you could master the start (without the bar stool leaving you behind), and remembered that the things were not built to corner, they were a blast.
Anyhow... his secret ingredient was automotive starter motors. He'd pull one out of an old car, set a battery on a bracket, and somehow run power (via gears or chains) from the starter shaft to a wheel. Of course, he'd add a throttle and steering, but the basic propulsion was just a battery and a starter motor. Not sure if you are looking to make a redneck/ budget- mobile, or if you are aiming for something a little more high- end/ Tron... but there's my suggestion for the prior! |
