Mid Engine vette is for real

I know there were spyshots before, but to me, I wasn't convinced based on those shots... but these, undoubtedly a mid engine.

This may be old news, but thought I'd share.

Not a fan. Looks like I won't be going after a C8 Corvette. It may bring some new enthusiasts, but I can see the purists really hating it.

I'm sure it will be mixed but from what I understand there will still be a front engine versions (the C7 and C8 will be in production together for a while). I don't think they would completely alienate their fan base. The C7 is a great car but the Z06 is really pushing the limits of the front engine rear wheel drive platform.

Are you even sure it is a Corvette? The only thing in those two links that say for sure is the covert testing was done in Michigan but they are only guessing it`s even a Corvette, for all they know it might be a different manufacture other than GM. If there was something that in those photos that differently identified it as a Corvette then I would be convinced they were legit spy photos of a new Corvette, it could be a Ferrari for all they know.

I'm with you but have a slightly different thought. I think this mid-engine Vette will be separate from the base Corvette line up. The regular line up will be front engine as everyone knows and loves, and then the mid-engine will be the mack daddy Vette. There could still be a Grand Sport and Z06 on the front engine model, the mid-engine would likely only have one trim level and be setup as a competitor to the new Ford GT.

I really hope this is correct. The "Corvette" is FR, and have the "Zora" or "Corvette Zora" be MR.
