Mustang GT Gets schooled by a M2

Poor little Mustang cant even keep up with a M2! The SS went toe to toe against a M4 and it was a draw!

Those M2's have been tested to run 12.7 1/4 runs.. But they pitted a DCT tranny vs a manual.. at least use a auto for the Mustang..

The SS beat the M4 68 out of 75 runs from the test.. getting 12.3 for the SS vs 12.4 for the M4 manual for manual.. Much better comparison!

every comparison SS vs. M4 were virtually tie! Braking, skid pad, Figure 8 Except the price. I believe the M4 with the upgraded brake package was $85k
Gotta say im a little shocked that the Mustang GT cant even take the M2 in the 1/4 mile! Imagine how bad it would do in other testing?? Braking, skid pad, Figure 8
The haters that say the SS isn't worth the extra $$ over the Mustang GT can suck it!

SS is a BEAST! What can you expect?? I do like the Mustang as well (came from a Mustang family) and I wouldn't mind having a base 5.0 as my DD lol

Comparably equipped the M4 runs well into the $90K+ range. The one that was tested by the Head to Head team did not even have leather. The SS - 2SS is literally half the price with equal to or greater than performance.

You can order an M4 for about 65k.. M2 about 50k if you do euro delivery. I am on the M2 waitlist at my BMW dealer, but also looking to see how '17 1LE pricing turns out.

I saw that video awhile back.. It was just around the track correct? No way an M2 can beat an M4 on the straights.. it may be close, but the M4 which is a low to mid 12 sec car will beat the M2.

I drove an M4 before.. big top end once the turbo spools.. not too much lag and it will pull to redline..

Compared to an SS, which has an insane amount of torque from 3k.. the acceleration is more violent in the SS to redline.

Poor GT lol

I'm shocked, honestly. 13 second quarter mile and 0-60 of almost 5 seconds? that's bad. really bad.

The M2 is 300lbs lighter, running hi boost turbos, and cost almost $15k+ more and 6 cyl gas mileage is no better than the Mustangs V8.

Not to interrupt your high fives and such but do note that the European spec Mustang GT is not equal to the US spec GT.

412hp/386tq EU spec
435hp/400tq US spec

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

I do love the new M2 especially in that Long Beach blue metallic. I see one at our local cars and coffee and it's beautiful.

I hope he parks it far away from the "US Speced Mustangs", I've seen what happens when those mustangs leave cars and coffee.
