Brake Question

1994 Ford F-350 Power Stroke 7.3L

New calipers, rotors, brake booster, and fluid reservoir.

Brakes keep locking up after 30 minutes of driving. Have to get out and bleed the brakes to get them unstuck. Seems like the right rear usually squirts the most when you go to bleed them.

Took the truck to Brake Check and they changed all the calipers and bled the system. Now they are telling us it is the transfer case. I called BS on the transfer case and now they want us to just pick up the truck. I don't think they know what they are doing and I still believe it has to be something with the brake system. ****ers took $1k on changing calipers and getting the truck greasy

What could be causing the brakes to lock up like they are?

Don't know crap about Fords, other than to stay away from them.. but I do know how to Google Search like a mofo and this seems to be an answer.

That was good info. I wonder if the lift kit and bigger tires will effect the ABS system as well???

Hard to diagnose something over the Internet, but it sounds like your ABS is dying. That's the only thing I can think of that would cause the breaks to get stuck on. Does the peddle feel normal after they get stuck or does it just "fall" right back down when you step on it?

Pressure on the pedal remains normal.

We just learned the guy who installed the lift on the truck bypassed the ABS... not sure what bypassed consists of, hopefully not just unplugging the ABS hydraulic unit. and calling it a day.

Yeah I would look into that ABS bypass, and how it was done

When I was a fleet tech I once saw an internally collapsed brake hose that mimiced what you describe. The lines would collapse on themselves when warm acting like a check valve locking the caliper. Maybe something to look into???
