A rough start with my 6th gen

I am a life long Chevy and Camaro fan boy. Camaros I've owned were 1970-1/2 coupe, 1979 Z28, 1984 Z28 and a 1995 Z28. All of them had manual transmissions.

4 weeks ago I traded in my 2013 Subaru WRX for a brand new 2016 2SS 6m. By far the fastest, best handling and most bad to the bone car I've ever owned. Unfortunately dream turned to a nightmare when a 72 YO driver in an old farm truck slammed into my 1 week old pride and joy while I was stopped at a traffic light. I suffered a concussion but worse than that, my Camaro was hurt enough to need $13,500 in repairs. The repairs should be completed next week. Hopefully it will be back to new condition.

She actually took it well too, there must be a lot of hidden damage to come up with that number.

Hope your doing ok, and so sorry to see this.

Ah man that stinks. Hope you get it back to normal quick.

Today I got rear-ended by a young kid at a stoplight....texting. He was going less than 5mph and there was no damage just a small paint thing. Fortunately I was in my Cruze! I can't image getting my Camaro 3 days ago and getting into an accident no matter how minor. Ugh.

dorifto65, glad you are OK.....I had something like that happened to me 2 years ago....in my 1 week old CTS, took a lot of the joy of having a brand new car.

BTW......CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Thanks guys for making me feel so welcome. The body shop at Park Chevrolet should have my car done next week. Just in time for me put some break-in miles on the odometer and then go to a track day at Virginia International Raceway on May 11. I'll post some pics and videos when we get back from the event.

Sorry to see that man, my friend got tboned by a 16 year old girl in his brand new g8 gxp at the time... Sh1t happens but glad it's getting fixed! Glad you didn't suffer any MAJOR injuries and hope you are doing well now!

I do see a silver lining with this. Since you are going to be getting a brand new trunk lid, this is THE perfect time to get the V6 TRUNK LID instead of the SS one and get a blade spoiler IFFFFF you want the blade spoiler!

Wow, sorry to hear this! Sorry about the concussion too, but glad you're ok.

This makes our little paint scrape from Saturday look even more minor in comparison.

Sure wish people would pay more attention!

WELCOME!!!

Take care of yourself and stay in touch with your doctor. Concussions have subtle associated problems. The car is one thing, you are more important.
